Marla and Above & Beyond--Above AND Beyond!!!

I read the reviews about this travel agency and decided two things: it was the closest to me, so I would go there first, AND I would specifically ask for Marla, because I often feel that (like Olympic scores) the worst (and the best) are probably not reliable. Marla, in fact, greeted me as I walked in, I sat down, and we began to work on my "situation." I was booked on a cruise from New Zealand to Australia, I needed to be there in 3 weeks, and I hadn't yet booked my flight.
Marla spend 3-1/2 hours with me, found the flights I had not been able to find on the internet, booked me into 2 hotels (pre- and post-cruise) that are stylish, convenient, AND inexpensive (I'd never have found them myself!!!). She followed up with me exactly as she promised, she answered several questions unrelated to my current trip, and all in all, showed exactly what a good travel agent can do. It was a wonderful afternoon, and, as soon as my bank account has recovered from this cruise, Marla and I will sit down and plan my next!

Avoid Marla. She was not able to answer any of the questions I had and put me on hold for 5 minutes so I could ask 'Bill'. Bill gave the phone back to her and I asked her another question she couldn't answer. Finally after booking she said she would send me an email. It never came. I called back the next day to confirm she had the right address (she did) and gave her two other email addresses to try. She suggested I wait for it and see if the email showed up the next day. I waited and called back the next day to tell her it hadn't. I finally got the email after she got 'Bill' to help her send it. The email included a broken link to the check in page for the cruise line. I emailed her and I still haven't heard from her 3 weeks later.
I thought using a travel agent was supposed to make things easier. I wish I had just booked my ticket directly to save the hassle of dealing with Marla.

We have used Above and Beyond Travel Agency, Inc., for several year's and have rec'd quality, caring service. Our travel plans are always made to meet our individual requirements and that sometimes can be a challenge as I have special needs. I have recommended them and continue to do so. Above and Beyond is a class act!

I have used this company for a couple of years now and they continue to impress me with their level of service. They are always professional yet still manage to be friendly. I feel they truly care if my trip turns out well. They keep a daily watch on my reservations and if better deals come up, they make sure I get to take advantage of them. I will NEVER book via the internet again.

I called at 5:23 pm. I guess they close at 6, so the person I spoke to told me that she would call me tomorrow morning....I guess she was more concerned about getting off of work than helping her company....I am calling a different service right now-- hopefully they dont close at 6....
