Great food!. I hadn't been there in years, but went over the weekend and the food was awesome. The Enchiladas Del Mar are the best I've had anywhere. I'm not sure why Citysearch shows this location as closed. The Round Rock location closed, but this one is still open.
Great Family Fun.
My family is huge, we roll in there with like four adults and six kids (6 to almost 2 years of age). We have never had to wait for long and the kids love to bum rush the toys they have for them.
Besides the food being wonderful and service excellent I love the fact that they have something for the kids as well. Like I said we run around with six kids that all need to be entertained. So ya, for me the best part is that, but OK I am also grateful for the margaritas as well!
Thanks El Arroyo for being geniuses with the toy idea and making our eating out experience as enjoyable as possible!!

Great drinks specials on thursdays and Good food. I've been going here for a while now and it just seems to keep getting better and better. They have great drink specials on thursdays 99 cent margaritas. The food is amazing and they seat you very quickly I have never had to wait to be seated. The staff is cool
We Love Far WEST!!!. My boyfriend and I always choose to go to the far west location of el arroyo because the atmosphere is very casual and laid-back and the staff is always friendly! I have never been when a manager didn't stop by my table to make sure everything was perfect. They remember our names, the food is great, and we couldn't ask for better service! Not to mention the food is cheap but still great!
Great food AND Service. For all of you who are writing bad reviews, I can't even imagine why you would. I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant and didn't experience anything negative in the least bit. My food was great, as was my wife and kids'. Our service was awesome and everything went very smoothly (which never happens for me when I take my kids out).
Average.
Average.
So average.
Food is average, service is average, value is average, atmosphere is average.
I don't think you could get any more average.
Far West location of the local Tex-Mex fave with the funny sign..
In Short
This festive neighborhood spot can always be counted on for what El Arroyo does best: quantities of gooey, satisfying Tex-Mex, affordable prices and potent margaritas. Menu highlights include the infamously dense build-your-own queso, bacon-wrapped shrimp Diablo, seafood and spinach enchiladas, El Arroyo combo plates and poblano veggie burger. And who in a college town can argue with $1 breakfast tacos after a long night of partying? Brunch is also served from 10am to 3pm on weekends.
Dissapointing food, good drinks. I have been to the downtown location of El Arroyo and always had good experiences. I went to the Far West location yesterday and the food was terrible. I had the beef fajitas. The tortillas were stale and the beef was very dry. My boyfriend had the tortilla soup and fish tacos. I tried the soup and it was very bland. The fish in the tacos was flavorless and tasted even worse with the addition of a stale tortilla. On the upside, my strawberry swirl margarita was delicious.
YOUR MISSIN OUT. are you kidding me, this place is a hiddin gem....fantastic drink specials (cant beat dollar margaritas on thursdays)...the staff was super friendly and i fealt like they knew me already....although i was primarily there for work, i had a great time....they had wireless internet so i got even more done and still had time to watch the games....i definitaly recommend this place.
Very bad food. I was invited out to eat at El Arroyo. At the time I was pretty new to Austin, so I gave it a shot. The food is horrible and the beans taste canned. The only thing it has going for it are the cheap prices and dirt cheap alcohol. Keeps the college crowd around.
