Rat-atouille!. We met some family for dinner and we were told there would be a wait, so we went upstairs to the Chinatown section of the restaurant for some drinks. The service was terrible, and we sat for about 45 minutes before our drinks showed. By the time we received our drinks, our pager had gone off for Musashino so we went downstairs for dinner.

The sushi was pretty good, and the service at Musashino was a bit better. However, after our meal was over and the restaurant had cleared a bit towards the end of the night, a rat ran through the dinning area!

Great Food!. Pretty typical prices for sushi at about $13/roll. The unagi is excellent and the rolls we had were all awesome. It is small, though, and it is very easy for it to get full so call ahead!

Not many sushi places in austin comes close. This is place is def. one of austins best. avacado kama is awesome, its their twist on most sushi places 'tower salads'. If you love all types of seafood, I highly recommend getting a sashimi deluxe. Great selection. Great Quality. All the sashimi has great color and texture.

who wants to pay for bad service?. musashino has to face that although their sushi is fresh and good, there are a lot of great sushi restaurants in austin now and they must step up their service - especially their waitress training. i went there with a friend i hadn't seen for awhile to catch up - we ordered a bottle of wine, two most expensive sets on the menu, appetizer, etc. our waitress had such a bad energy the entire time that my friend and i just could not have a good time. she never smiled, asked how we were doing, if we needed anything else. i mean who wants to pay for such a bad service? if i want to ignore the service and go for a take out just to remain a faithful customer, it still doesn't make sense since the whole point of sushi is to eat it fresh at the restaurant, so there is no point of me ever going back to musashino.

good sushi but terrible service and awkward ambiance due to lack of staff training really ruined my experience there.

i recommend other great fresh sushi restaurants in austin, pass musashino. you will leave feeling unappreciated and confused why you even tipped.

Worst Service I had ever experience in Japanese Restuarant. I was a super fans of Musashino.Especially their Ramen, it was great with authentic soup base. We have moved to CA and just came back for visit. We had been missing its ramen, I made a special lunch trip to Musashino today with friends. The ramen is no longer with Japanese BBQ pork. They replaced regular "Honey braised ham". The soup base was still pretty good. Friend of mine ordered a "California roll" and "Caterpillar roll". Both of them are $10; however, we realized their Caterpillar roll is not came with "eel" unless you specify "add eel" which is $3 more. There is no longer serving "sashimi deluxe plate" in lunch menu. Each order of Sashimi is $3-$5/pcs, minimum for each order is 5 pcs. The most disappointed was their service. There were 10 people in our party, our waitress was Mary. She had ever come and asked "how was everything?" not even came over for refilling our empty water glass. It was not too busy at the moment we were there. She was serving about 4 tables, she went there and asked all other tables, but just treated us invisibly!!! I almost had second thought not to pay that 18% gratuity! Although their ramen is unbeatable to anywhere, I would not pay any more visit there because of the service today by Mary.

If you are looking for authentic Japanese food no matter of their service, you should pay a visit there. However, their prices are not worth for me to receive the un-welcomed service.
