Stay away from this place – According to their web your shipping is 5-7 business day's. I ordered three and half weeks ago. Two weeks ago I called and Bill told me that "You'll get it next week" It's been week and a half, I am still empty handed. I called and left several messages for Bill again, no luck.
Your money talks, you don't need this crap. Stay away from these place.
Buyer Beware – I called Austin Rare Coins in 2004 to purchase gold coins for the purpose of preserving wealth in the face of the dollar's declining value. This was my first such purchase. I was not very familiar with gold coins but I was aware of Canadian Maple Leafs and that is what I intended to buy.
I spoke to Roxanne Byrd and, in her friendly Texan voice, she convinced me to purchase other coins for their numismatic value.
Unfortunately, this was a mistake: the price of gold has more than doubled since then but the buy back price of these coins is significantly less. Not only have I lost money, I lost the ability to make money off of the Maple Leafs that I originally wanted to buy.
great service and security – It has been a real pleasure working with the professional and courteous staff at Austin Rare Coins & Bullion. The quality of their products are always top notch. The nature of their business always has the customers needs first. They realized what my investment needs were and together we are able to develop a plan that was best for me. Even under some of the toughest investment markets, the quality and success of my investment has surpassed my expectation.
Exceeded Expectations – I've been a collector of coins for over sixty years now and have dealt with nearly all the names in the marketplace that have instant (and not so instant) recognition.
Over the last two years or so, I've had the great good fortune (and pleasure) of dealing with your company, Austin Rare Coins, and have found their representatives to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful in the accomplishment of my objectives. Gabe particularly has provided accurate and timely information. When advising my friends and associates I recommend Gabe and Austin Rare Coins as the source with very competitively priced products that meet or exceed their advertised condition and are promptly and securely delivered.
Thanks for addressing my individual requirements so well.
Fast & Professional Service – Was looking to purchase a single gold coin. Several establishments were not able to work with me.
Made a few more calls before I found Austin Rare Coin and Bullion. Arranged my purchase over the phone and received a prompt confirmation email.
On the day of my appointment, I was able to drive in, meet face-to-face and pick up my coin. They were very fast and professional. And, their prices were on par with the other establishments I had contacted.
Excellent Security & Customer Service – The company was very helpful and went the extra mile after the sale. Not only did I get an email confirmation but also a phone call. The salesperson also sent me more information on how to diversify better and wanted to talk to me more about my portfolio. I have never gotten this great of “after the sale” treatment. I am recommending this company to family and friends.
BUYER BEWARE – PLEASE google this company name to read all of the published information. Calling out to all of my fellow Austinites, do your research!!!!
WEBSITE NOT SECURE MY CREDIT CARD # WAS STOLEN – I bought bullion online from their UNSECURE website (not https). My credit card was stolen after my stupidity. DON'T PURCHASE ONLINE FROM AUSTIN RARE COINS!
Worry free Accounting – Our business has been working with Jeff Austin for almost 10 years and we have been so pleased with his financial expertise and handling of our business. If you want to rest easy knowing that your finances are in order, Austin & Company is a great place to take your business.
Too snooty for me – After a cold, cordial telephhone greeting by a receptionist I tried to speak to the owner about some rare coins I've collected for years. I was then transferred to his secretaty and reiterated my wish to sell my collection, OOPS.... "sorry he doesn't speak to customers" WHAT? First you get the receptionist, then you get the owner's personal secretary who says the sales manager is out and yak yak yadda yadda, after two attempts I gave up. I've done business with another gun & coin shop here in Austin and was treated really nice, big outfit but not too big or too snooty to come out and meet & greet you.
As past CEO & CFO of a medical corporation and sole owner of other companies (I retired at 50 years old) my staff and employees knew I always had time to talk with any customer, past, present or future. This is the essence of any good, successful business operation, it's called customer relations and owner accountability.
If this is representative of how they conduct their business guess I need to find another Coin Dealer to buy my collection, BTW, you can only get in the place by appointment.... go ahead, just try to make an appointment.
