Good Mexican food and outdoor dining.
The place does get super busy on nice weekend nights and wait times over an hour for outdoor seating is not unheard of, especially during sunset hours. However, they have a nice outdoor bar and patio area where you can wait for your table while sipping some margaritas and listening to live music. The menu is good and it's probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Lakeway area. I particularly like the spinach and mushroom enchiladas.
Personally, I find that I copmare this place to the Oasis because of the sunset views mainly and the Oasis has a slight edge over Iguana Grill, but the food at Iguana Grill is much better and I find myself going there more ;)
Perched above Lake Travis, this casual Mexican restaurant offers a meal with a view..
In Short
Though inside dining is available, the patio offers breathtaking views of the sunset over the water. White plastic deck chairs and big umbrellas provide the feel of summer year-round. Typical Tex-Mex fare with a unique Latin American twist is offered. You'll find lots of fish, including shrimp-stuffed enchiladas, tuna steaks and grilled rainbow trout. Also notable are the fajitas, which are marinated in pineapple and orange juices and a splash of beer.
one of my favorites. There is nothing like sitting outside on a beautiful afternoon or evening and watching the boats on the lake while you drink a frozen margarita and chill out with friends. Iguana grill is a great place to do that! I am a big fan of the spinach and mushroom enchilatas and you can't beat the queso!
A bit too expensive. The chips and salsa aren't the best around. The food in general isn't good Mexican food, but the view is gorgeous. Sit outside if you can or your experience will be a let down.
