Breakfast is good, too.
A friend and I had breakfast at the Satellite Cafe this morning. Neither of us lives near here, but we had a coupon and decided to try it. What I liked the best was the high quality of coffee and that there are four varieties that you can choose from. You do have to serve yourself, but that was not a problem for us. I'd rather get coffee when I am ready instead of sending out a search team to find the waitress.
Also, the waitress was very sweet and helpful. She offered to bring us a lunch menu to read before we left after we told her this was our first time here.
My friend liked her eggs and I liked the "create an omelette" as well. I think I will be back at lunch or dinner. The restaurant has a very "comfortable" feel, similar to the Bakehouse of which I am a fan, too. The restaurant has a casual feel, but it's not dive. You can look at the wine selection to see that. In spite of that, the prices are very reasonable.

Best dining experience in a long time!.
I went to dinner here with a girlfriend on a Saturday night and had the best time. We sat at the bar and had a glass of wine before we got seated outside on the cute little patio. Service was excellent, appetizer was great, and the entrees were delicious. I had the orchid chicken and my friend had the ribs. Our server recommended the chocolate cake and it was to die for! I plan on taking all of my friends and family here, it was such a pleasant dining experience!

Good fare.
In most major cities you will find something like the Satellite downtown. Good world fusion menu and laid-back environ. The Satellite in South Austin should be closer to the city and it might do better. I had a good rare steak here, it was full meal and enjoyable dinner. Good wine list, but expected.

Undercooked food.
Do not go here. My husband and I ate at the new Circle C location. The Orchid Chicken that I ordered was raw on the inside! I notified the manager and she took it away. I then did not speak with her again. Another waiter told us that we did not have to pay. For your own safety, i do not recommend this place.

Oak Hill gets a satellite offshoot of the beloved downtown coffeeshop..
In Short
Seeing Flipnotics transplanted to the 'burbs feels a little strange, but luckily the food is as good as ever. The buttermilk pancakes are among the best in Austin, fluffy and buttery. Standouts on the salad, pasta and sandwich-heavy menu are the Thai lettuce wraps and catfish tacos with a choice of sauces (try the ginger soy). There's also a healthy sampling of vegetarian options, such as the Mississippi Sun breakfast platter and the vegetable lasagna.

Fantastic food and friendly staff!.
The food is really amazing, especially considering the price, and the winelist is incredible, one you'd expect at a much larger restaurant. Weekend breakfasts, especially the Mississippi Sun and the French toast, are a treat, but come in for dinner as well. Friendly staff who recognize you when you come back also really add to the experience!

Best Food & Service Oak Hill has to offer.
Best cuisine in South Austin! Extremely great friendly service! Try the portabello mushroom sandwich. Also the steaks are really good at a great price...
