Still waiting for service on Friday evening.
Okay, they diagnosed the problem last week, needed to order a part and said this Thursday would be good. Well it turns out Firday is better for them. 5-7pm.....it is now 7:30pm and we are waiting
to go to dinner after maybe a repair guy shows up or calls.....
Think my wife is P___ssed…
Disappointed service.
We requested Oak Hill Appliance to fix our dryer. The repairmen came out on a Friday and claimed to fix the problem. Later that day, the dryer was hot to touch, although we had not used it. The
repairman came out the following day and said he fixed the problem, but it could also be part of another problem, but he was not sure. So, I'm out $200 in repairs and a dryer that still did not work. I called their office to speak to a manager. I was informed the owner was not in, but she would call me back as soon as she arrived back in the office. I never received a return call.
I'd recommend trying another company before you call these folks.…
Great Service!. I have a Whirlpool Cabrio dryer that continued to spin, but not dry my clothes. I went on the internet looking for solutions to my problem. After a little research I was convinced that it was either the thermal fuse, cut-off switch or the heating element not working. I found a diagram for my particular machine and was ready to begin taking off parts. I called up Oak Hill Appliance and spoke to a nice lady who told me to bring in the thermal fuse, thermal cut-off and the heating element and she would check them out. She explained to me that given my symptoms that it was probably the thermal cut-off, which of course it was. I arrived at the service counter and she immediately checked the parts, got me my new parts and off I went 3 minutes later. Saved me at least $120 on a service call and I have the personal satisfaction of having done it myself. Thank God for the internet and Oak Hill Appliance...I couldn't be happier!…
Disappointed Regarding Cost and Service.
Our GE high-efficiency dryer, which has not been a reliable dryer for us, has needed several repairs. We used Oak Hill Appliance a couple of years ago for warranty repair. Although it took awhile
to get the correct part, the service technician was friendly and got our dryer up and running. When our dryer stopped heating up last week, we went ahead and called Oak Hill Appliance since they helped us before and they are a family-owned business.
Initially, my mom set up the initial appointment for the next day after dryer broke because she was told that there were no more appointments for that day. In the afternoon, I received a call on my cell phone saying a technician was on their way (mistake or not, we were happy). Although OHA was told we were at a new address, the first service technician went to our old address. After arriving at our current home and spending some time looking at the dryer, the tech indicated we needed a thermostat and element. At that time, he indicated to my mother that the service call fee would include his return trip to install the part. It took a couple of days to receive the part and the tech returned to install it. He notified us that the dryer still wasn’t working. The tech re-diagnosed the problem as the blower motor and ordered the new part. We spent the weekend and Monday without a working dryer and then tech arrived Tuesday and fixed the dryer.
When I received the bill, the cost for the blower motor was $140 and the labor was $110. I paid the bill not realizing that my mom had understood that the service call fee included labor. I called and spoke with OHA. Their representative said that they “make clear” that the initial service call fee is for diagnosis only. The problem is that my mom was that the tech was the one to tell her the fee included his return trip. Regardless, we paid about $200 to wait days to have our dryer up and running plus $140 for the part.
Although they the technician was very friendly, we received service below our expectations. In a family of nine, we didn’t have a dryer to use for almost a week because of a wrong diagnosis. Additionally, with the miscommunications and high charges, we will no longer be using Oak Hill Appliance.…
This is a top notch repair company.. Oak Hill Appliance has come to my rescue several times over the past 15 years. I have had them repair my washing machine, range and dryer over the years. All repairs were done promptly, courteously and at a fair price. I have purchased parts from them to do my own repairs a number of times. Sometimes they had the parts in stock, other times they went out of their way to find them for me quickly. One time my refrigerator died the Friday before labor day weekend. I diagnosed the problem to be with the thermal protector for the compressor. OHA went out of their way to find me a replacement part and saved me a fridge full of food. Their communications and follow up were outstanding. Their prices were always reasonable (and I check against the internet). When I think of all the various repair shops I've dealt with (cars, roof, a/c, etc) over the years, this is definitely one of the best run operations I've seen. Always professional, honest and fair in my experience. I highly recommend them.…
