Run down, not very good. Building looks run down, you go inside and confirm that suspicion. So run down that it doesn't even pretend to be clean. Can only imagine the bathroom.

No soda on tap, all cans in the fridge. Older couple running place by themselves and don't look too happy to be there - don' expect any smiles there!

Pizza - very basic. Tastes like most of the ingredients were frozen or just poor quality. Next time I'll tell my young, cheap co-workers that they need to step up from the broke college kid food. Gross.

Excellent crust. This is by far my FAVORITE pizza place in Austin. This is the only place that gets anywhere near new york style pizza. The family that took over years back is very friendly and kept things running smoothly. The pizza tops everything else on the menu, but there are many good things to choose from. The crust is thin, crisp, and just a little bit flaky. I have a hard time taking leftovers home or keeping anything for the next day if I get take out. They do not deliver, but they have a drive through window on the side of the building. There is a very simple dining area with booths and some pinball machines. If you eat there it's good for single, couple, and family dining.

Fabulous!. Aljon's is one of my favorite places to eat in Austin. Their pizza is the best, their Italian subs are delicious, the strombolis, calzones and chicken parmesan are all great too. It is very small and never very crowded and the service is great. :)

Awesome pizza. Every time I go to Aljohns they are never crowded. They have awesome pizza, and I have never had to wait longer than 10 minutes to get my food. The resturant is pretty small, but perfect if you need some time to think. I live in Round rock and when I'm in town I make drive there to eat their pizza.

Avoid on all nights. What a letdown after reading other reviews. I had the spaghetti and meatballs--early Chef Boyardee with overcooked spaghetti, what I think was little more than tomato sauce, and 2 utterly characterless meatballs. The salad consisted of about 12 shreds of iceberg lettuce, a small slice of pink tomato, a tiny piece of onion, and three small chunks of green bell pepper with a little vinegar, a few drops of oil, and a dash of pepper. The garlic bread was maybe an ounce of small strips of what I guess was white bread with a dash of oil and no discernible garlic taste.

Other reviews rave about the pizza, but I'll never find out.

Old school Italian pizza shop caters to those young and old in search of a good pie.. In Short
This restaurant is an old fast food joint with orange Formica booths and pink and green floral wallpaper. A TV competes with two pinball machines for the attention of those awaiting their precious pizza. Aljons has created a classic Neapolitan pie, by way of New York-style pizza. The handmade dough, tossed in the air the old fashioned way, creates a bubbly crust. Calzones feature huge mound of dough encasing four cheeses.

Great Service,Great Pizza!. I've been going to Aljohn's for almost a year now, my husband and I have never had any complaints. We love the owners, they are very kind, and their little girl is so cute! They pizza is great and always fresh. Our only consern is that they are never really crowded and we don't want them to go out of business!! The location is not in the nicest area of Austin, but this should not keep you coming by! You can even order over the phone and pick it up at the drive-thru! Great service, great pizza!

greeeeeeeeeaaaat NY style pizza. This down home joint isn't in the most desirable part of Austin-but don't let that fool ya. The pizza is scrupmtious and the family that owns it is very charming and provide excellent service. It is a great place to join up with friends and have a beer or two while enjoying some of the best calzones and pizza in Austin. Plus homemade crust!

A must!

Best kept pizza secret in South Austin. I have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. The pizza is really good but the calzones are the best thing here. The prices are very reasonable and the service is fantastic and very fast. The previous owner was a bit eccentric and harsh to employees and customers but the people who own it now couldn't be nicer. Make sure to come try Aljon's or else they may close down as there is never anyone in there when I go.

Incredible. The place doesn't look like much from outside, but you can't beat the food. I've never seen it very crowded at lunch so apparently people don't realize what they are missing out on. My only complaint is that it isn't closer to my house!
