First impression is great. The facility is beautiful, clean and there are 2 big arenas. Unfortunately once you start boarding there it is obvious that money is the major priority. You will be nickled and dimed to death if you do not take the time to read the list of fees in depth. I think it is a facility that you either Love or Hate and my experience was the latter.

Pros: Beautiful facility

Cons: Management is not acceptable

Fees are reasonable and competative to others in the area and my overall impression of the owners, trainers, boarders, horses, and facilities are very good with this barn. There are certainly a few other barns in Austin that are of equal caliber to White Fences, but I felt very comfortble coming out here to take lessons every week and have been riding at White Fences for about two years now and am very happy. I dabble in dressage, but mostly ride hunter/jumper. Their facilities are remarkable. They have MANY paddocks that they rotate so that the grass is kept lush and green for grazing. They have about 3 paddocks for lesson horses and many others for boarders. They also have 1 barn and private areas for boarders and all are very well maintained. I think others might wish the farm had more than one line of stalls for boarders, but there's an emphasis for natural boarding (in the paddocks) at this barn rather than cooping up the horses in stalls all day, which I think is great. The arenas are dragged and cared for on a very regular basis, both arenas are well-lighted and one is a covered dressage arena with mirrors. They also have very nice trails for boarders or guests wanting a nice trail ride. The horses are also very well cared for, have plenty of room to graze and romp around in their grassy paddocks, and they all have amazing temperments. They teach mostly hunter/jumper and dressage w/ the western trail rides, but I have seen western boarders and lessons taking place. They teach beginners through advance 7 days a week and keep their group lessons small. They do participate in showing, but you will never feel like you HAVE to show, unlike at other barns where if you don't show, you're not as "special" than those that do. Everyone is equal at this barn in my experience. If you're looking for a place to board, ride, or train for you or your child, I recommend you to check out this barn for yourself.

Pros: facilities, ground maintenance, lessons/training

Cons: can't think of anything
