Great First Experience. I brought my dog here last week to get spayed, and it was a great first experience at this clinic. The staff and doctors were wonderful and cheerful. Their was hardly any wait time at all to get her checked in. The surgery went very well, and Kali is doing wonderful now!

COLD HEARTED MONEY GRUBBERS. My partner and I are hobbyist breeders and only breed every two or three years. We have been going to Century since we moved to the area and have found the prices to be exorbitant. They pad bills with such ridiculous things as a five dollar disposal fee for each syringe or needle and try to add things to every visits bill. Medications are OUTRAGEOUS!!!! Twice they have pressured us using scare tactics into have unnecessary C Sections which is unethical and dangerous. Dr. Nairn pressured and scared us into doing a Section five days (THAT IS ONE WEEK of a 63 day gestation period) before a due date. This is not a Hospital that I would ever recommend as they obviously care more about the almighty dollar than they do the dogs and the people who love them. RUN AWAY FROM THIS CLINIC and the cold Associate Vets that work with Dr. Nairn. If you have money coming out of your woo woo and you don't care about doing unnecessary surgery then this is the place for you, otherwise do your research!!!

Absolutely the BEST Veterinarians. Have always had very good experiences with them, and they really go the extra mile for my animals and for me. They have the cleanest clinic of any I have ever seen, which I find to be very important for the health of my pets. Have been using them for about 10 years now.

BEST Veterinary Practice in Austin, Texas. This vet. practice is outstanding. The staff and the doctors are a valuable resource to Austin pet owners and pets. I have gone there for 12 years and have received nothing but the best of care and support when my cat's health deteroriated. Dr. Van Brundt always returns calls, gives the best of care and has made house calls when it is necessary. All of the doctors are highly skilled, up to date on the latest treatments as is their staff. The doctors are excellant diagnosticians and the staff are highly qualified. This group of doctors are very competent in the care they give the pets and they know when to refer to a specialist. This is a very admirable quality not to mention much appreciated by the owners. The staff is always pleasant, professional and the entire office loves your pet almost as much as you! They are always ready with hugs for your pet and for you as an owner, esp. when needed. They go out of their way for your pet and for you as an owner. I can't say enough about each and every one of them, esp. Dr. Van Brundt as I know her the best as my cat's doctor. She got us through many a hard time and knew how much I loved "my boys." She was there the day I got them and she was there when I lost one of them. She shed almost as many tears with me as I did. They have a true love and caring for their clients, as an owner, we couldn't ask for more. I HIGHLY recommend this practice. I would NEVER go to anyone else.

Unneeded procedures/tests to get the maximum income. The vets and staff are very customer service oriented and will treat you well. The hitch is that

they are oriented to doing as many procedures as possible, whether or not you pet needs them.

As a result, the bill is quite inflated, partially because of unneeded tests and procedures.

A couple of weeks ago, my dog was constantly scratching himself and I saw Dr. Van Brunt.

She is a skillful vet and diagnosed a problem with allergies. I believe her diagnosis was

correct. Then, her recommendation was to do allergy testing ( multiple needles into his

skin, look at the tests and then create "extract" solution to be used for future injections

with the goal of reducing his allergic reactions. I was shocked. I asked for an

antihistimie to help him. She told me to buy some Benedril.

When I myself started seeing an allergist, the first thing was to evaluate my environment

to search for the problem. Lots of questions about all kinds of things. Then he prescribed

an antihistimine. He then told me to buy a certain, really good AC filter and install it today!

He gave me a choice of 2-3 stores to buy this filter. In later office visits, he started talking

about testing.

My point is this vet clinic treats with the most expensive procedure up front. They heal the

animal with the hidden goal of getting the maximum money out of you.

Not rescue friendly. Profit drive exceeds care provided to pets.. I was a client of Century Animal Hospital for several years and spent literally tens of thousands of dollars at their clinic on my own animals, as well as, animals in my rescue group. Initially, I was pleased with this veterinary clinic and their staff, with the exception of feeling their services were extremely overpriced. Unfortunately, several terrible experiences with them led to me ultimately changing veterinarians.

The first problem, which should have been enough to keep me from going back, was when I showed up for a veterinary appointment with one of my own dogs and was handed a note by one of the techs stating that if I did not pick up my foster dog that was boarding at their clinic, they would have animal control pick her up. This was not only without notice but also after I spent $2,500 (not a typo) boarding her as I had no other option for her.

This is probably the least "rescue friendly" veterinary clinic I've ever used. While they seem to care about the animals, it became clear their top priority is a large profit. While most veterinary clinics occasionally take in animals, get them healthy and fully vetted, using their own resources, and offer them for adoption, Century Animal Hospital is the first I know of to solicit donations for the occasional animal they rescue. Yet, they do not offer established rescue organizations discounts or payment plans, even after a long term relationship. Even if you ask to post date a check a few days, they will only do it if you pay an extra fee.

Great Clinic, but expensive.... The care at this clinic is outstanding. Very compassionate vets and staff. I have to agree with an other review concerning their prices. They are very expensive. More than any other clinics I've been to. I would suggest to the owner of the clinic, that she does some price comparisons and consider lowering her prices to be competetive with the other clinics. Although I love this clinic, I will probably have to find a more reasonable clinic in the future.

Great Vet, but Pricey. I love this vets office and have been going here for years. Everyone is pleasant to work with and the place is always clean. The vets always take the time to talk to you and let you what is best for your pet. You really couldn't ask for better service. My only problem is the cost. I guess you get what you pay for, except I just can't afford it. I use them for the yearly exams, but I have to go elsewhere for procedures. I really hate that too. Hard to find a great place like this one.
