Good Food for a Small Budget.
It's amazing that you can have a meal this good for such an inexpensive price! You can have a plate for under 5 bucks! You don't have to wait long for your food either. The servers are attentive, and if you're looking to practice your spanish, this would be a good place to come. I don't like dining in for lunch, though...Crockett is right accross the street, and the kids are loud and filthy mouthed!
Great food, super cheap.
This place has some great, authentic Mexican such as barbacoa, pozole, and even beef tongue. They'll serve your tacos with either traditional Mexican (cilantro and onion) or American (lettuce and tomato) toppings. My personal faves are the al pastor items with Mexican topping...it's probably some of the best al pastor in Austin. There are really no cons to this place, everything is super cheap and you can get out for $5 or less.
Tasty, inexpensive Mexican food and no-fuss surroundings.. In Short To say the place is casual is an overstatement, but it all feels authentic, from the tapestries on the walls to the Spanish language you hear spoken all around you. Upon sitting, you'll be served a free basket of tortilla chips with two salsas. For breakfast, there's the three chorizo and egg tacos. There are eight burritos and a variety of tacos, tostadas and tortas. The beef fajita burrito includes beans, lettuce, tomato and avocado.
