This all-American burger chain's reputation floats on fresh ingredients, friendly service and homemade custard.. In Short
Founded in 1984, this family-friendly restaurant is recognizable by its bright blue roof and stark white interior. The menu includes pork, chicken and fish dinners, accompanied by fries or mashed potatoes, coleslaw and a roll. The signature item is the ButterBurger, which is made from scratch with never-frozen, 100-percent U.S.-raised beef and served on a lightly buttered bun. Dessert options, such as the Turtle Sundae and Concrete Malt, feature homemade frozen custard.

Culver's has the best Reuben Sandwich anywhere in Austin. Bar none.. This drive-in is convenient for me, but I would go out of my way, if need be, in order to have their Reuben.

The hamburgers are also very good.

Best Shakes & Fries. Nice all American restaurant... Quite yummy... Great Fries & shakes... Okay Grilled Chicken sandwich & Best Burgers!

Best custard to be found!!!. If you haven't been here yet - make the trip! I am from the north where these originated, and I couldn't have been happier to find one here in Austin too! I'm an ice cream and custard fanatic - and this is the best! They make "blizzards" that are amazing - plus they have a flavor of the day that others mention. And even though I'm not a big burger fan - you have to try one of those too - they're called butter burgers, and any guy would love them! Although not located in the best location, it's definitely worth the drive when you're craving a good burger or cold dessert. Don't miss out!

The Real Thing. The frozen custard at this place is the Real Thing, folks... if you've never tried it, you must. I try to drive by as often as possible, just because it's fun to see what the Flavor of the Day is - but sometimes I just gotta stop! I love the ones with Heath or nuts the best, but they are ALL good. One caveat - they melt very fast in the summer, so if you get the waffle cone (which is the best, by the way), be prepared to lick fast and use lots of napkins!

Great Food!. Great frozen custard with a flavor of the day/week that changes. I enjoyed the Culvers root beer and my son enjoys their kid's meal which comes with a free custard dessert. They also have really good bacon cheese burgers that don't taste like your typical quickie food.

Great casual place. Good place for familys to have 'non fast food' fast food. The fries are great. The real reason to go there though is for the frozen custard. They have the basic chocolate and vanilla but out on the marquee they have the flavor of the day!!

Real Frozen Custard!. The frozen custard at Culvers is the real thing, just like up north. They have many flavors, including daily specials. Their burgers and fries are also very good. One of my favorite hamburger joints in Austin.
