As an African American I have to disagree with the review from 2007. As an African American I have to disagree with the review from 2007. Perhaps the staff has changed since then. Or the front office person was having a bad day. It happens to us all. There are times when I know for sure I am being treated differently because of my race. But I did not feel that at all during my time in the office. I had my 1st appointment with Dr Joe last month and he and his staff were wonderful. Two of his staff members had come to my office for a health fair. They scheduled my appointment right on the spot. Dr Joe seems like the perfect Grandpa. He made sure all my questions were answered. He was so friendly I almost wanted to give him a hug after my visit. They turned me on to a great rubber floss stick(I can't remember what it is called) but now I am a morning - noon - night flosser. I will go back to Dr Joe again and again. Thanks for reading!!!

Dr. Smith is Wonderful. I have been seeing Dr. Smith for 20 years. He is a wonderful dentist and he goes beyond the call of duty to care for all of his patients. I read both of the reviews noted in the CitySearch reviews and I doubt very seriously that Dr. Smith or his staff did any of the things intentionally against anyone because of anyone's race. Did the person note that Dr. Smith has people of different races on his staff? None of what the person noted made sense. it sounded more like a personal thing against Dr. Smith. I am a nurse and a long time patient of Dr. Smith. He has come to the office on weekends to treat me and he has been kind to my children when they were young and afraid. I cannot say enough wonderful things about him or about his staff. Call Maria and talk to her about any problems and she can make any problem right. I challenge anyone to find a better dental team anywhere! By the way, my teeth are doing great also.

Excellent Dentist. Please ignore the "race" review. I've been seeing Dr. Smith for quite a while. Perhaps this person forgot to sign in, perhaps a mistake was made, but to accuse them of being discriminatory is ridiculous. Dr. Smith is an excellent dentist and the staff (who is multi racial) is great and very friendly. My GF who HATES the dentist even has no problems going to Dr. Smith. He is very thorough, knowledgeable, friendly and professional.

This person strikes me as the type who would think parking meters and the IRS are race based.

People of Color Avoid this Dentist. I am very disappointed in this dentist office. My first visit - new customer- I was treated as

though I was not important. The staff sitting behind the desk ignored me and allowed me to sit

there for 45 minutes until some other staff member noticed I had been sitting there for quite a while.

I certainly hope I was not treated this way because I am African-American. Other caucasian customers

were immediately given proper service. I left the office immediately. The customer service is awful and

I will never return and advise people of color to avoid this dentist at all costs.
