French cuisine, specialty coffees, wines and pastries are available at this chain eatery..
In Short
Hardwood floors, tables and chairs scattered in front of a fireplace; the decor is reminiscent of a French countryside cottage. Orders are placed at the front counter and brought to the table. Full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus are available; however, patrons are invited to come just for a glass of wine or cup of coffee. No meal would be complete without trying the strawberries Romanoff--fresh strawberries topped with brandy cream sauce.
Over 60 crowd and Housewives.
The Luby's cafeteria style line and service is just not for everyone. If your over 60, a housewife or just out of mass you may like it.
There doen't seem to be in anyone in charge. I had some concern about cleanliness as well. The stafff seemed to be compulsive about touching their faces and food.
Excellent maybe.
We parked I would say on the side and had a little trouble finding the front entrance. It would kind of be helpful to place arrows as to where the front door is vs. the next to "name". I warn you they do not seat you. You must obtain the menu, order, and then if there is something that must be made, then they'll will bring it out to you. Moreover, my girlfriend and I started with the French onion soup which is not so bad but not all to great. I am hearing raves about the Tomato Basil Soup which I will try next time.
Secondly, I had the Croque Monsieur which is a classic French ham sandwich accented with cream sauce and Swiss, baked to a golden brown (somewhat like a grilled cheese, but way better). It is filling and very tasty for those who like both cheese and ham.
Thirdly, she had the Beef Crêpe Maison shaved roast beef sautéed with broccoli, onions, roasted potatoes and mushrooms tossed in a creamy cheddar cheese sauce. Served with green beans almondine. This is what I love about the Bistro. Your taste buds will fly with this dinner. Try having the garlic mashed potatoes and the oh so good Rice Provençal. The rice is not dry one bit. It is very moist I must say. All in all, I will go back due to the great tasting Beef Crêpe Maison and Croque Monsieur.
Great Soup. They have one of the best tomato basil soup. It's worth going there just for the soup. Some of the entree are bit pricy though.
