I purchased a $300 AR Drone 2.0 made by
Parrot from Brookstone and brought it home. Put two batteries through it, no crashes, and the software on the drone failed on the third battery. It won't even turn on (bricked). When I called Parrot they offered to repair the drone (which would take several weeks) as long as I paid for shipping.
When the manager at Brookstone sold me the AR Drone he did not say the item was non-exchangable, and neither does the receipt.
I called Brookstone to speak about a return or exchange and I spoke with the manager. He told me he could not accept a return or give me a refund, but he said he would contact the Brookstone corporate office to discuss the issue and get back to me. The manager did not get back to me within the timeframe he gave me so I called the store back. I spoke with an employee who said the manager was out for the day, but he agreed I should be refunded for the drone, or have it exchanged. A few days later I called the store back and the manager said he had contacted the corporate office, but they had not gotten back to him because of some serious "employee issues." I have submitted a BBB complaint, but have not heard back.

A store filled with gadgets and gizmos that make the average Joe feel like 007..
In Short
Unique, high-end consumer products are functional in purpose and fabulously designed. Entering the market in 1965 as a vendor for "hard-to-find tools," the chain now carries a wide variety of products for home, office, travel, auto, health and fitness needs. An interactive environment encourages shoppers to try most of the products (think reclining massage chairs and wine bottle openers). Offerings range from high-tech gadgetry like slim CD players and air purifiers, to low-tech items like mattress pads and outdoor furniture covers.
