simply the best. This restaurant is tucked away next to the local westlake post office. Not a lot of people pay attention to it, but for those of us who know of it - we gotta get our fix. It's like a chocolate addiction but more intense. Seriously! The food is great. If your favorite is kung pao chicken, or sesame chicken - they make a better one. They also have great things like: shrimp with eggplant, young duck with ginger root, shrimp toast and a less known thought - egg foo yung! It's not on the menu. You have to know to ask. And when you do, they deliver. And it's amazing! They offer take out and they deliver! Luckily we live close. So it's great. You gotta see what the rest of us have already figured out - they're awesome!

Good food.. Never had a problem, I've been eating here for 3 years. Usually ordering delivery to the office for lunch.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE/DELIVERY. I have gone here since I was a kid, because I enjoy their food. However, recently I have received HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. ALSO, THEY HAVE THE WORST DELIVERY SERVICE IN TOWN. BEWARE.

Outstanding Restaurant. I have been going to the Lotus Hunan restaurant for years and they serve some of the very best Chinese food around. The food is great and the service is always outstanding. It is a family run restaurant and they make you feel a part of that family.

A few of my favorites are:

Beef Hot Pepper Sauce (add shrimp). This makes a great surf-n-turf Chinese dish.

Combination fried rice (spicey): This is the best fried rice that I’ve ever had.

And my own creation of: chicken, white onions, green onions w/the sauce used in Beef Hot Pepper sauce.

I really cannot say enough good things about the Lotus Hunan. If you are a fan of Chinese food or just good food in general then a visit to the Lotus Hunan is a must.

This Place is Really good. I have reservations about recommending my neighborhood eatery because I dont want there to be a wait when I go BUT "for the greater good" I must say this is some very good food at very reasonable prices. I travel city, state and country wide and go to many restaurants, but I would say for the convenience, casual atmos., good prices and great food this one is hard to beat.

You gotta go!. This is a restaurant that you go to when you have a bad day, or good news to share. They are or become your friends. I say "friends" because it is 4 siblings and their parents. You will not only love their food, but also the occasional hugs they give out to those that you can tell are nice. They know almost everyone by name, and genuinely care how you are. How many restaurants come with that? I'll take that over a stuffy, pretentious place any day!

Fabulous!. This place has the best Chinese food I have had in Austin. Everything is delicious and affordable and the service is excellent. Everything I have ordered has been loaded with meat, you definately get alot for what you pay. The eggrolls are flaky and tasty. The waiters are always very friendly and seem to genuinely care about giving you the best service.

Foodlover. Hidden treasure! I've been going here for two years now and have never had a bad experience. The food is great, and the waiters are always friendly. Good value!
