Austin >Toni & Guy
I love Toni&Guy!.
I stopped by Toni&Guy in the Barton Creek Mall on a whim because I needed a haircut for an interview I had the next day. They set me up with Josh Howard and I must say, despite my anxiety regarding a new stylist handling my cut, I was extremely impressed.
Josh is incredibly personable and easy to talk to, but most importantly, he is an extremely talented stylist. He's very precise and very much a perfectionist. I've been seeing him for all my clean ups and bang trims and full cuts since that first visit. If you're going to Toni&Guy, I highly reccommend you make an appointment with this guy! He's wonderful!
Sweet sweet cut. I was in Austin on vacation with my cousin and we both got our haircuts at this salon by Ashley and Nate! They did a fantastic job. Too bad I don't live in the area to come back!
Victoria Rocks at Color!. Victoria did my hair recently and did a fantastic job! I got a full highlight done. She is exceptional! Great customer service! Offered me something to drink! Great, Great, Great is all i can say! And i absolutely love my hair! If only she could work more that just sundays at the barton creek location. Some weekdays would be nice tooo!! Thank you!!
found my stylist!. I am so happy to have found Abby again! She left Tony and Guy about 2 years ago and I had no way of finding her! Of course they wouldn't tell me where she went or how to get ahold of her, which led me to be very unhappy with my hair for the last 2 years. I came acrossed her at Electra Beauty Lounge on south Lamar, not only is she still the best colorist she also now is able to cut my hair and wax my eye brows!! She even tinted my very light eye lashes, and it looks like Im wearing mascara all the time!! If anyone else has lost Abby and looking for her call Electra Beauty Lounge!!!!
I love Toni and Guy!. I recently went back to the toni and guy barton creek salon and its under new management! The staff was super awesome offering me coffee, soda, even cappuccino!! I recieved a full highlight and haircut and it looked awesome! Theyre giving out coupons too for 10% off!!! Will defiantly be returning there!
Cig is gone and will be sorely missed! Salon Aqua Blue is his new home!. When I'm done with this review, I hope it helps everyone find Cig! He started cutting my hair after a former employee of Toni & Guy's at Lakeline gave me 2 bad cuts in a row. Cig is amazing. My hair is very curly and FEW hair stylists "get" how to cut it or how to recommend products for it. Cig gently guided me through fixing years of bad advice. I sighed a deep sigh after learing he wasn't at Toni & Guy and was simply told that he wasn't with the company any longer. I realize that salons never give out information on where to find the stylists that leave, but I got lucky and found his number. He's at Salon Aqua Blue at the Crossroads Shopping Center at Burnet Rd. and Hwy. 183 (along with Pluckers, Chili's, Tabu, etc.). Give Cig and call and you won't be disappointed. Good luck, Cig with this new salon! We love you!
Stay Away....they messed up my healthy long hair...gave me an ugly choppy hair cut I did not ask for...I wanted a trim!!!.
Stay away from the Lakeline Toni&Guy. I used to be a regular with Jamel. My last hair cut made me hate Toni&Guy salon. I looked at pictures from other times I went there and I realized I have been fooled by the nice atmosphere and have been paying $100 for horrible hair-cuts. Jamel over-does the chopping...way too many layers. I had long hair....went in for a trim...he ended up chopping off my hair and making it look super thin even though I told him I only wanted a trim and shorter bangs. My hair is now horribly chopped and layers are way too dramatic.
I naturally have lots of hair...very full and healthy looking. In this last hair-cut he used razors to do my layers, which I questioned him about. I do not like razors because I feel like it damages my hair. He told me that is what they do in Europe.
So my hair is now extremely unhealthy and brittle looking because of the razor layering. Also, he overdid the layering and made the layers on top waaay too short so now my hair looks way to thin. I hate that he did not listen to how I asked him to cut my hair. He now messed up my plan on having long and beautiful hair for my wedding which is coming up in few months. I am EXTREMELY MAD every time I look at my horrible haircut since I have been growing my hair for a couple years now in preparation for the wedding and now he messed it up right before the wedding.
So stay away...Toni&Guy is NOT worth it!
I found Cig and The Cigolicious Experience. I recently called to make an appointment to get my hair cut done by my regular stylist Cig. They told me that he no longer worked there and I flipped! Who was going to do my hair? Luckily I was able to find him after I had let someone else at Toni and Guy try to dupplicate his cut...I suppose I should have learned my lesson because this is the second time my impatience has lead me to "ruins" without Cig.I. just wanted to let everyone else know that he is around because I know he has many loyal clients that would miss him tremendously if they could not follow him. He can be found at Aqua Blue Salon located at the corner of 183 and Burnet. The salon telephone number is 512-300-2782 the hours are Monady-Saturday 10am-7pm I know that it is a drive, but you get what you pay for. I have learned that high dollar is not equated to great cut,but Cig is. Cig has a heart of gold when it comes to keeping his clients happy.I will follow you to any salon, Ciggy. here is his cell for loyal clients in need 512-773-6012
Avoid Toni&Guy Austin. I worked at two of the salons and was treated poorly. I was pushed to sell products which is fine but I am not about to bully people into buying things which I saw the owners do. Their products are good but they aren't the best products for everyone. I see it as a huge turn off to go to a salon and be bullied into buying products. I was a client before I worked there and I fortunately was never bullied into buying product. I was treated so poorly as an employee and so are all of the stylists. I know longer work because I was tired of standing up for myself and getting nowhere. The partners of toni and guy in austin do not care about anyone but themselves and their pocket books. I would not recommend going there if you want to relax. I especially suggest you stay away from Lakeline and if you do go there absolutely do not go see jamel. He only really spends 15 minutes with his clients and it's like an assembly line to go to his chair afterwards you will be bombarded with all kinds of product and pushed to buy it. Those that train closely with him do the same thing with the product except they tend to spend quality time with their clients. I am not going to go to a slon and get treated like I am a product on an assembly line and then be bullied to buy product when I am paying enough for the haircut. Oh and if anyone was Cig's client and they need to find him post something on here for me and I will help you get in touch with him.
