Austin >Toni & Guy
I was at the mall waiting for my friend
the other day and decided to walk in and get a haircut to pass the time. (Way over due!) First off, when I walked in the salon I was greeted by a very welcoming tall blonde man. Super sweet guy, and was offered water or soda while I was waiting. Everyone who was at the front smiled at me when I came in. :) I was put with Vincent. He is hilarious first off. (He's also really cute. Imagine Johnny Depp cutting your hair. Yes, please!) Kept conversation the whole time (not in an obnoxious way) which is super awesome because I get bored real easy. I wasn't sure what I wanted, because like I said before it was on a whim. He talked me through it not only asking me what I wanted, but asked what I didn't want as well. He's been doing hair forever I learned, and it showed. I've never been so pleased with a haircut before, and I'll for sure be back. My hair is shoulder length, and he made it perfect. I was also told I get free bang trim in between visits too!
All in all, a wonderful experience, and will not only be back, but I'll be bringing my mother as well.
best haircut ever. Ask for Alexis! She is amazing! I called the store one day after work wanting a hair cut. They said there was still an appointment available with one of their beginner girls, and of course I was nervous. After going to see her I have to say that out of all my haircuts (in 29 years) this was BY FAR my best! She spent over an hour with me, telling me different ways to style my hair and what I could do with it. I went to work the next day and EVERY single person I work with said how awesome my hair looked (even after sleeping on it). If you want a good job done and someone who is very personable, she is your girl :)
Adrian...sorry if I spelt your namw wrong. Adrian has moved to the Barton Creek location. I am sad because she does such an awesome job on my hair. But I will still commute to get my hair done by her. I went from really dark brown almost balck or black to blonde and my hair was never onrange or ugly. She always made it look good and the way I wanted it. So if anyone is looking for a good colorist Adrian is your lady to go to. :)
Christie has moved!. Christie Gilliam, colorist at toni and guy austin, has moved. You can find her at Salon Intuitions at the triangle on 45th street! heres the number! 512 323 0880

Have a great holiday everyone!
Joshua is fantastic!. I used to be a client of Toni and Guy in Dallas and was apprehensive about leaving my Dallas stylist. Prior to making an appointment at the Austin T&G, I looked up reviews on this site and saw Josh's name mentioned several times. I made an appointment with Josh and was delighted. Not only is Joshua an exceptional stylist who is sincerely interested in his clients' satisfaction, Josh is a lovely person who has much depth and character. Joshua is a dynamic professional who listens to his clients and fulfills their wishes with precision and care.
Nate Tucker is at Birds Barbershop on Burnet.
Just wanted to let any clients of mine who would want to follow me know, I'll be at Birds on Burnet! If you enjoy the Toni & Guy experience, then see Ashley for a cut! If not, come see me!
Hope to see you soon. :)
Great Haircut. I went to get a new haircut, not sure what I wanted, but found a great Art Director. Joshua did a great job of working with my short hair and making it look new, while I try to grow it out. We talked about New York and Austin and he gave me great advice on life! He is a nice person and excellant at his job.
I love my hair!.
I started going to Toni & Guy back in January 2010, and ended up with a fantastic stylist, Joshua Howard.
I came across Joshua on Craigslist while he was looking for haircut models during his training at Toni & Guy. I somehow managed to get two free, fantastic haircuts out of him while he was still training. I loved my haircuts so much that I decided it was worth the money to pay him to continue cutting my hair. He is very thorough, has quite the attention to detail, and he takes the extra time to show me how to style my hair when I ask. Plus, he's a fun guy to talk to and honest with me when I decide I want to do something drastic!
The salon itself never makes me feel pressured to purchase product. It is very clean, and all of the staff members I've encountered have been very friendly.
With all that said, Toni & Guy is not the place to go for a cheap haircut. You will not get a haircut for less than $50. However, my personal philosophy is cheap haircuts = bad ones. I may be making more of an upfront investment for a haircut at Toni & Guy, but it grows out well and lasts longer between cuts. Cheap haircuts start to look mullet-y when they grow out in four weeks.
I will continue to take my business to Joshua at Toni & Guy in Barton Creek. And if he ever moves on, I'll likely follow.
