Absolute best for LASIK...

Just had Lasik done. It was everything that the team at Dell Laser Consultants said it would be. I knew exactly what to expect and they answered all my questions.

I had been wearing glasses since I was 10 years old. Can't believe I can see clearly when I first wake up in the morning. Wow! What a difference!

I think one thing that patients have to be prepared for is that Dell Laser Consultants run the office like a business - which it is. There is not alot of touchy- feely here as in your standard doctor's office. They are precise and to the point with not alot of wasted time on their part. The patient has to fit into their schedule. I was willing to accept that as I wanted the best surgeon for my eyes and believe I received exactly that.

Don't Trust Your Eyes to Anyone Else

I've wanted to do LASIK for years but have just been too nervous to go through with it. Dr. Dell, Dr. Cunningham and all the nurses at Dell Laser Consultants made me feel 100% comfortable.

They fully explained to me what to expect before, during and after the procedure and I have zero complaints. The procedure was pain-free...really! Wish I would have done this years ago.

I'm writing this review the morning after my surgery and my vision is almost perfect. I can't believe it! I know there are several places in Austin where you can get LASIK, but you won't find a better staff or better doctors than at Dell Laser Consultants!

Thank You Dell Laser Consultants

It’s been just over a week since my Lasik surgery and I can already see 20/15. Unbelievable!

Just before the surgery, I had one last eye check with Dr. Dell to make sure everything was good to go. They made sure all my questions were answered. I was then given 3 Valium and sat in a waiting room with a few others to let the Valium kick in and get me to relax. Everyone was chatting because of the Valium (even me which is surprising), and one by one the doctor came in to grab the next person. We wish each other good luck, and then wait to see if we would hear any screams coming from the operating room. Well...no screams were heard and everyone that came out of surgery had a huge smile on their face. Eventually it was my turn…and I was excited and still a bit nervous.

I’m not going to lie, I did not enjoy the procedure. They place a thing on top of one of your eyes that creates a lot of suction and you’re told to look into the blinking red light. The red light becomes very blurry, then it comes back into focus, and then you repeat with your other eye. That’s it. Yes, it was quick, easy and painless but being able to see what was going on and having my eye suctioned open was a bit scary. Luckily they gave me a stuffed dog to hold onto for dear life.

The whole procedure takes about 5 minutes…amazing. As soon as you sit up from the operating table you can see. I almost cried because it was such an amazing feeling being able to finally see without glasses or contacts in 25 years!

Thank you Dr. Dell, Dr. Cunningham, and the rest of the amazing staff at Dell Laser Consultants for calming my fears during this whole process. Your professionalism and knowledge is the reason you are top notch!

Now just wish I would have done this sooner!

Custom ASA surgery

I had my Custom ASA surgery one month ago today with Dr. Dell. I am amazed at how great my vision is. I could not be happier with my decision to get the surgery. The surgery was very quick only taking about 15 minutes. The facilities are very nice and all the staff was friendly. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Dr. Cunningham and the nurses at Dell Laser Consultants made LASIK easy and painless. While no doctor can guarantee an optimal outcome, Dr. Dell cares very much about his success rate, so his clinic won't even touch your case unless they are pretty darn sure they can help you (unlike many bargain basement laser surgery centers who are happy to take your money whether you see better or not, because after all, you did sign the waiver...) The process (consultation, in depth eye-exam, pre-surgery follow-up, surgery, post-surgery follow-ups) seemed rushed at times, but I think they are just trying to be efficient, rather than shorting their patients. Every time I asked them to slow down a bit or explain something again, they were always happy to take more time with me. They want you to be completely comfortable with the surgery, so they explain EVERYTHING and if you're still not sure you can even back out right up to the day of the surgery. Anytime I had even a minor complaint after surgery, they brought me in immediately for a follow-up with Dr. Cunningham, who kept my recovery right on target. It's not the cheapest place for LASIK, but really, do you want to bargain with your eyesight? Dr. Dell's the best in Austin, and he's worth it.
