My oldest son went to Longhorn Driving under the old management and we never had a problem. The "new" owners are really great too and my daughter went there this past summer. My biggest issue is scheduling the drive time. My daughter finished up the classroom part in mid-August and has not yet had a chance to drive! Nothing is ever open....... I am very frustrated, and so is she, because she feels like she is forgetting information because she cannot utilize it. I have called twice before about this situation and was very patient and understanding, and I am placing a call today about the hinky system they use. If I do not get a good response, I will be back on here later today with an update..........
- Pros: friendly people
- Cons: scheduling driving time
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED : GOOD VISION AND EXCELLENT SERVICE

6 months ago we moved from Dallas to Pflugerville and started searching for driving school for myself. I am 37 years old and had no experience about driving back in my country, my husband thought me how to drive for a while but getting lessons from family member is not always the best thing to do. I am nervous about driving so I need a professional one to get me thru all this fear . I searched and searched and searched… I checked their reviews before I even make a call.
A lot of driving schools out there and they have their own real reviews from real people who had their lessons from them. Upon reading reviews, called several places for an instructor from the search results and fortunately I got connected with a nice and very accommodating lady at Longhorn Driving School. At first I am hesitant to call them because they have bad reviews year 2008 but I call them anyway just to give it a try.
AND THIS IS I FOUND OUT AFTER MY PRODUCTIVE AND VERY EXCITING LESSONS WITH LONGHORN DRIVING SCHOOL.. ( CEDAR PARK AND GEORGETOWN ) ABOUT THE BAD REVIEWS: DISREGARD THEM BECAUSE….
NOTE: THIS IS THE REALITY, LONGHORN DRIVING SCHOOL NOW IS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT ALL BAD REVIEWS LAST YEAR ARE RESULTS OF THE OLD MANAGEMENT THAT HIRED A RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTOR. THE NEW MANAGEMENT NEED TO WAIT FOR A BOUT A MONTH BEFORE THEY CAN TERMINATE THE OLD INSTRUCTOR EMPLOYMENT BECAUSE IT IS AGAINST THE LAW NOT TO GIVE UNQUALIFIED EMPLOYEE A MONTH OF TIME TO LOOK FOR A NEW JOB. GOOD THING THE NEW MANAGEMENT OF LONGHORN WAS ABLE TO FIX THAT PROBLEM AND THEY GAVE THAT BAD INSTRUCTOR A CONSIDERATION LET HIM STAY FOR A MONTH TO PUT HIS SELF TOGETHER AND BE A BETTER INSTRUCTOR, WELL WHO KNOWS WHAT HAPPEN TO THAT RUDE INSTRUCTOR. THE GOOD THING IS MIKE HARDY TOOK OVER THE JOB AND HE IS THE BEST EVER DRIVING INSTRUCTOR THAT YOU COULD EVER HAVE. HE WILL WORK WITH YOU ALL THE WAY AND….NEW MANAGEMENT IS EXCELLENT AND THEY ARE NICE PEOPLE INCLUDING THEIR STAFF.
IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT “ YOU PAYING THEM IT IS THEM GET YOU THERE AND MAKE YOU A BETTER DRIVER “
I am lucky to come across with Mike Hardy definitely the BEST INSTRUCTOR that could have for. The wife of Mike Hardy who took my call that day was very friendly and polite. That alone made me decided to make an appointment with them and everything is history on how I successfully got my DRIVER’S LICENSE.
LONGHORN QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Professional, Patience, Cool, Respectful instructor ( Mike Hardy )
2. Reasonable Fee
3. Flexible Schedules
4. Good Staff
5. Nice Car
6. Very detailed and extensive 4 lessons
7. Tips on how to deal with the test
8. Actual Practice of Test
9. Motivational Skills
10. Very effective preparation before the test
11. Detailed Instructions on what to do
12. Organized Paper Works and Documentation
13. Name it and they have it.
I made a lot of mistakes during my last practice before the test because I am really nervous that time, I am the first one to take the test and at about around 9:15 am. I need to be in line, my heart really beating so fast but Mike gave me the confidence and told me that everything is going to be alright. It is all with you when you are about to take the test but you will going to be fine if you will make yourself relax and remember what Mike thought you in the practice. And by the way take your test at DPS-Georgetown TX because the testing area is friendly than the one in Research Blvd. and the examiner ( Jane ) is really nice and gentle.
I want to thank you Mike for being part of my journey in getting my Drivers License. I had a very exciting and excellent experience with you. If you need Driving lessons don’t even think twice call them right away and they will take care of you.

We moved to Austin and searching for driving school for my wife. She had a little experience about driving, but very nervous for driving. I called several places for an instructor from the search results and fortunately got connected with a lady at Longhorn Driving School. She took my phone number and told about Mike.
Mike called me and we discussed about my wife driving lessons. He assured me - within 4 lessons - your wife will get license. I was surprised, but told him to come for the first day. He drove all the way to our Southwest Austin apartment from Cedar Park, and took her to the freeway. I was sitting back and scared a little bit. For the very first lesson - she had a very good experience and confidence. Mike is very patience, cool, and good standard of teaching. Next time, we went to Georgetown DPS and had a practice of actual test. We had another session and finally on 4th day, my wife passed the test and got license. Many thanks Mike for your help!
- Pros: Patience, Cool, Good preparation for pass the test
