Fastest Delivery – I ordered a keyboard for my laptop on a Thursday and had it on the following Saturday. This is a top notch company that provides excellent descriptions for their products, ultra-fast delivery, and great customer service.
Reasonably-priced hardware. Get warranty and deal with mgr – If you don't get a warranty of some kind and diligently check your cords and battery and continually check your hard drive for faulty issues, you could be getting someone's reject -- which is the nature of buying something used.
Do NOT throw away any receipts and make sure when you have your PC repaired, you get it back with all the drives it originally came in, mainly for PC swaps.
The manager here is actually a very nice person, and you can avoid a LOT of inconvenience by going straight to him.
I can tell you one thing.... People DO read these reviews... I found out the hard way.
It's just better to get something new or get everything in writing first.
Great Service – Laptop was running slow, like it had a virus. Brought it to Anderson Rd location - tech worked on it for 1.5 hours at no charge. No virus, but disabled Office Plug-Ins in Norton/Options/AntiVirus/Miscellaneous, repaired Microsoft Office, and increased the processor speed. Will return to Discount Electronics with my business the next time the hard drive expires.
Bad Memory – Went to Round Rock store for memory. Bought an upgrade. Take it home and it doesn't work. Go back. I wanted matched speed and type. They said it makes no difference. Home again and system crashes with new memory. Back again and they laughed it off. Made them test it and sure enough it is bad. No refunds at this place. Had to demand they test and give me matching memory. Works now but never go back because of attitude of people there.
Great Shopping Experience – I went to Discount Electronics on Anderson Lane two weeks ago to buy some speakers. Wow! The customer service was great! Michelle was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. She helped me pick out the right speakers for my computer. I often shop at the big name corporate stores and pay way too much and get lousy customer service. Your employee made me a Discount Electronics customer for life. No more Big Box stores for me.
I even went back the next day and bought a laptop mouse and I got the same great service that I experienced the day before. Please thank Michelle for me. She is awesome!
CD/DVD ROM Fix – Just wanted to thank you for the excellent way my problem was handled. Gene gave me great information and also great instructions. He was willing to work with me in getting the problem fixed in a way that was most convenient to me and I thank you for handling it so very quickly. Hard Drive Fix – Thanks to Gene who gave me professional advice on how to run the BIOS and get the Hard Drive I pourchased from Discount Electronics up and running. INCREDIBLE SERVICE – I have been buying parts to build, repair or upgrade my computers, at discount electronics for years. I have been told that problems with ram are common, but I had never had a problem till the other day. I brought one stick back to them and they said if the replacement one gave me problems just bring my computer up there. Sure enough the next ram stick didn't work in my computer. When I brought the computer up they had to try so many to find one that my computer would except. The guy that was working on it (Conor) was running back and forth between work he was taking care of in the back and my computer in the front. He never missed a beat. While he was doing this he also held a friendly conversation that led to me asking about an issue I was having with my childrens computer. Conor told me if I grabbed it from my house he would stay late and take a look at it while he was working on my ram. He made sure all my ram sticks worked together (including the one I bought on the spot knowing he was there to check its compatability) and helped me with the childrens computer. When I asked what I owed for all his time he made it clear that he was just happy that they could find the ram that worked for me and assist with the kids computer. He even helped me carry everything out to the car. Conor ROCKS and so does discount electronics! I will be a customer for life!!!!!

Friendly ppl, but miscommunication at first. – I had 2 laptops in which I thought the DC jack(i think that's what it's called) might be loose, because I had just gotten new chargers and then they died so I brought them in. The lady at the front was friendly, but said that to fix the problem is $100 or so and to check it is $50 down. I signed something which I just glanced over and didn't see the non-refundable part of it. Then I came back a couple days later and they said that the DC jack was not the problem and I just needed a new charger.
There was a different lady, Michelle who just double checked with a new charger and I asked if I could get a refund. At first the answer was no, because the paper said non-refundable. She later personally called me to let me know she had talked to her manager Matt to let me get a refund. When I went back they explained that it was just a mis-communication and it should have been an easy fix.
I'm happy with how Michelle personally called me. That's customer service, but it always helps to research your problem and read all the paperwork. lol
