Julio's RestaurantTHE BEST..... I love their mexican martinis and I have yet to find something on thier menu I don't like. Nothing is greasy or over cooked her. It all tastes so fresh. I'll never not eat here weekly. Its a great place to meet a few friends and get treated like family.
Great tacos. We ate at Julio’s for the third time yesterday and I’ve just got to write a review letting other know how wonderful it is. I highly recommend the tacos and enchiladas. They are delicious because Julio’s uses real roasted chicken (as opposed to the processed, grill marked stuff posing as chicken). It’s also designed as a real Austin restaurant – it’s a good place to take visitors for the comfort and lack of pretentious ambience. It’s almost self serve, with great prices and large portions. Excellent!
Good Enchiladas/Chalupas. The food, particularly the enchiladas verdes, was really good. Beware the long haired nerd who is ostensibly a regular. He tells terrible loud jokes and then giggles. If ya don't know...now ya know. That is all.
In a neighbohood of trendy eateries, this intimate, bright Mexican joint keeps on doing what it does best..
In Short
Julio's is surrounded by other great restaurants in Hype Park, and this may cause it to get lost in the shuffle from time to time. But this colorful little place churns out some great Mexican fare, so don't pass it up. Julio's was the first restaurant in the city to include Mexican roast chicken in the menu. Traditional favorites like beef and chicken fajitas, chicken enchiladas and chalupas are also available.
