BAD ATTITUDES. I have not had a chance to eat at this place, I had a hard enough time getting a friendly person to talk to, I decided I wouldn't bother with their food. I had sent an invitation to the restaurant for a charity event our company was holding. I went in to the place with the intentions to let them know the event had been canceled.I couldn't get one person to talk to me, the owner told me to hold on and walked away never to return again. RUDE! Customer service prevails over good taste. maybe something they should take into consideration.

Best burger in town. If you like Fuddruckers burgers... You'll love this place. There hamburger bun is amazing. Much better than Fuddruckers. The interior is a little rundown but gives it a homey feel. I will have to rate this joint as having the BEST hamburger in town hands down. Reasonable prices too.

Best I've had in a while. I've enjoyed (and not enjoyed) many a burger in Austin. Dan's and Fran's burgers are good but their fries make baby jesus cry and the burgers are a little pricy due to their use of primo black angus beef. Sandy's are alright except for the nightmare of entering and exiting the parking lot and they are really only a good value on thursdays and saturdays...oh and the fries are greasy and not well seasoned. Casino el Camino's are fan-freaking-tastic but they are not open during lunch hours.

but......

Burger Tex was spot on on all notes (mostly). The buns...tasty, the beef...wonderfully seasoned, the fries...I hope not to offend my asian amigos by saying this but, they bring honor to the ghosts of my ancestors and me love long time!!! The feel of the inside of the place is homey, clean but not steril and the people are very friendly and helpful. Today was my first time there and definately not the last. I love that they have pool tables, copies of the Austin Chronicle, televisions to provide a leisurely dining experience. I can't believe I waited this long to visit, try it now and you will not be dissapointed, unless you are like the killjoy who posted below this. He will probably soon be featured on that Dateline to catch a predator show. Oh in the interest of not ending a post by personally attacking an unknown person the only downside is the burger was a wee bit dry, but not so much so as to slander the name of burger tex, for shame other poster, for shame:(

overrated. I had a craving for a good burger, and after reading all the great reviews about Burger Tex, tried it out. I was really disappointed. First of all, the gave me (and charged me for) a combo meal, even though I only ordered a burger. I wasn't a fan of the fries and didn't even eat them. The burger just wasn't that great-- it was okay. Since then I've discovered P Terry's and it's the best burger I've had in Austin, so I know where to satisfy my burger cravings!

A big-burger institution offering a variety of beefs and a down-home feel.. In Short
Brick and wood décor create a down-home feel at this Austin fixture. TVs plus pool and foosball tables add to the ultracasual atmosphere. Lunchtime sees the biggest crowd, when customers are a mix of professionals and blue-collar workers. The hearty beef-chuck burgers come in six- or eight-ounce sizes, with various toppings, including bacon and grilled mushrooms, squeezed between wheat or white made-from-scratch, toasted and buttered buns.

YES!!!!!!!. Finally, a decent burger in Austin! Yummy toasted bun, large juicy patty, do it yourself condiment bar, tasty fries, and cheap! I was starting to lose hope. Outside of the thursday and saturday special at Sandy's, the finest burger in Austin. Watch out for the "golgi" burger, or whatever they call it. A burger chopped up and teriakyed. Probably an acquired taste.

My Favorite!. This is one of my favorites. I hear the Korean fare is outstanding, but every time I can't resist the burger - best I have ever had! I prefer the one by campus - their buns are better and they are a litle friendlier.

BEST BURGER IN TOWN!. THis place rocks...i prefer the burger tex off of airport...where the fixins are fresh and chilled, the service is adequate and the people are friendly...the burgers are so money...you gotta try this place if you periodically salivate for a satiating bacon cheeseburger on a toasted kaiser roll...

'nuff said...see you there...(i'll be the guy smiling in between bites...)
