Best Study Place in Austin. Delicious coffees, ample seating (no parking ><). If you're looking to chill alone or play quiet board games, look no further. But talk, and you WILL be hushed
awful coffee. I come to flightpath to work on papers, and it's been great for that. However, the coffee is terrible, in my opinion. I usually get a skim cappuccino which is usually okay. Today, I ordered my usual and it didn't taste right. I explained to the barista that it didn't taste right, and expressed wanting to get a drip coffee instead. She was going to charge me for it! And she made me feel stupid, implying that I didn't know what a cappuccino is supposed to taste like. Even when I just spent $4 on a coffee that tasted bad! I won't make this mistake again. This confirmed by distaste for their coffee, even the drip is bad, really bad. IF you are going for the coffee, I would recommend going somewhere else. If you are going for the atmosphere, then that's okay, just order something other than coffee. I can say that of all the times I've been there, there has only been one nice guy working there. Most of the time, they're really unpleasant. I usually don't give negative reviews, but flightpath really needs to improve on service & their coffee. The coffee doesn't seem fresh, and tastes like poor quality beans. Oh well.
Citysearch Editorial Review. A comforting mix of stress-ridden students and friendly Hyde Park neighbors stop into this funky mainstay for coffee, tea, juice, snack food and no pretenses.
Really over over rated ....
Okay, so I've heard nothing but good things about this place ... but I don't know why. First of all, the food and coffee are way below par and the staff (especially this one guy) have no personality. At first I thought he (they) were just having a bad day. Alas, NO. They are ALWAYS this moody. It's almost as if we are "bothering" them and they are just too cool to be there. So, no thanks. I've got better things to do than to get attitude from people who have a superiority complex, are pseudo-intellectual and really are not THAT interesting.
I would rather go to Starbucks.
Cool Staff and a Vacuum Cleaner Lamp!. I could name the material things that make Flightpath's aspect so inviting, the bright colored walls, the art that adds meaning to my post-modern, post-mortem world - but that would not do you justice. Here's a story: I left my new leather jacket behind on a chair and did not even know I had done so, until the next day, when I returned for another heavenly latte and Chris identified me as the owner of said piece of dead cattle. Honesty? In Austin, TX the home of the esteemed Mr. DeLay and passing grounds for Mr. Rove? Wow! Austin, Sign me up! Chris, and all the hard working crew at Flightpath need some extra Ceasar coinage shoved there way so, come all ye who seek comfort of free wifi, intelligent caffeine addicts and beautiful velvet ladies hidden in the grid. Oh, and they have a Vacuum cleaner lamp!
LAND HERE!. I started coming here after I got fed up with Spider House and I must say it is a huge improvement. I haven't had trouble finding a place to sit or plug in my laptop and the staff is polite, REALLY! Plus the wireless connection works (a big prob at Spider, it always goes out)! They don't have a great outdoor seating area but aside from that it is a wonderful change from the STRESS of other coffee houses (rude staff, hordes of people usually loud and whiny pretentious teenagers, no seating, way too loud music). I love this place! In fact I am here right now and I feel so calm... What a relief!
The Coolest Cup of Coffee. A great place to get some studying done, with ample room and tables to accomodate everyone. Eventhough I don't have a laptop or a wireless networking card for that matter, the availability of it is nice. Great neighborhood place/alternative to 'bucks.
