Such a cool shop! Great for finding unique furniture, art, and details for the home! I'm obsessed with the prices and all the knick knacks!

Hands down the best vintage furniture & clothing store in town. Great selection & amazing prices. Looking to Mad Men out your pad? Come here
great deals on cool furniture and other stuff. Room Service is one of the coolest places to shop in Austin. Want something original? Want something totally wacky? Room Service is the place. THE place in town to get great sofas at great prices. Why get a boring sofa at a high price from one of those new places when you can get a cool sofa at a nice price? They also have the best selection of swag lights, housewares, and cool vintage clothing in town.
Thanks for your kind words. Please come in and introduce yourself to us. We love to know who the people are who leave us such great reviews.
This is just the sort of place where long-forgotten treasures of the past could be remembered..
In Short
Room Service makes you want to put on some Louis Prima and smoke a cigarette with a cigarette holder. The elaborately decorated store contains pink and gold contour couches, fabulous light fixtures and lamps, and more than enough ashtrays to make it through the next millennium. Feast your nostalgic self on vintage dishware, kimono jackets and Elvis wall hangings, records, boots and, ahem, tacky religious icons. Vintage toys include metal lunchboxes, stuffed animals and dollies.
Fun Place to Look Around. Besides being a lot more reasonably priced than Congress street, Room Service is a lot more fun. The store looks great, and you can tell the people that set it up love the things they are displaying! It's also a lot more convenient and yet off the beaten path, in a cute little area in the heart of Austin. Look often, the store always has new stuff too. As long as you are in the area, go visit Donkey Music - a great little music store that I had never heard of until I saw it across from Room Service -and Hogwild - just to look at all the toys! Actually, don't forget to go to the Japanese store to the west of Hogwild too. They have Pocky and maneki-neko's.
Not that I don't agree with the first two sentences, but the area is really building up. You need to come check out the NORTH LOOP STRIP. Donkey Music and the Japanese store have long since gone out of business. But there's still Forbidden Fruit, Sound on Sound, Monkeywrench, The Parlor, Austin Modern, and Ararat. Lots of reasons to come to the hood.
