I enjoyed my stay at the Ramada Central. The rooms were clean and management was courteous and efficient. The daily breakfast was also very good. Thanks for a very pleasant stay!
I have to admit I was a little hesitant to stay at this hotel but it ended up being far nicer than I had ever expected. The staff was very helpful and polite and went out of their way to be sure that I had an enjoyable stay.
After a day of shopping at San Marcos outlets we stayed the night at Ramada in Austin. For a $45 a night room we were very surprised. It was roomy, very clean, the employees were extra helpful and very friendly. We took a dip in the pool which was cool on a very hot day. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable. They offer a free happy hour and a great hot breakfast. It was delicious. We had scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, OJ, coffee and a Texas shaped waffle. They also had many cereal, pastry and bread selections.
We stayed there twice.Great place,owner goes the extra mile.Hot breakfast bar,biscuits & gravy,ham & sausage,fried potatoes,scrambled eggs,waffles,6 different kinds of dry cereal.etc.They have a happy hour Monday-Thursday.Room are nice & clean,service is great..Reasonable rates.
I paid $30 a night for a room that I would easily pay $100 for. Room was very clean, bed comfortable, staff friendly. Great location. No complaints!
Wonderful staff – We stayed here because of the previous positive reviews and were very happy. The owner of this property is in the building most days taking care of his investment. His pride of ownership shows in a well-maintained building and a wonderful staff. Add in the free breakfast and a happy hour from 5.30 to 7 each evening and you have what all hotels should be but most are not.
Excellent Stay – This property seems to be relatively well kept , clean and quiet. We stayed one night and I got a real good nights sleep. The free breakfast was excellent. The hotel staff were very helpful, couterious and friendly. The hotel is located as named "centeral" making it fairly easy for shopping and dining. Yes we would stay here again and are looking forward to have another pleasent stay.
Clean and Comfortable – Stayed at The Ramada for one night. The draw of this place is the low rate (we paid $70/night) for a centralized location in Austin. The rooms were dated but clean, beds were extremely comfortable. The free breakfast in the morning included hot items like sausage, ham, biscuits & gravy, eggs, and hash browns. Free wi-fi was easy to connect to and very fast. Overall very pleased with my stay and I would definitely pick this hotel again for the value it offers.
Accessible from the freeway! – I stayed at this hotel while visiting Austin for a convention. The location was a bit confusing the first time, but its actually quite accessible from the freeway. The room was quite spacious and had a large TV. The hotel has a great hot breakfast every morning. There was a manager's reception in the evenings where drinks and snacks were free to all guests. The IHOP next door is good for eating out. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.
Bedbugs! – My girlfriend and I stayed here ACL weekend, and thought that the hotel was nice enough. About 24 hours after leaving the hotel, we both started itching all over. Soon, raised red bumps appeared all over our bodies, probably 15-20 total each. After doing some research, we found that they were indeed BEDBUG bites.
We contacted Ramada corporate, who told us to speak with the manager, Sam Wilson. A few days later, we received a letter from Mr. Wilson basically passing the buck. He stated that others had stayed in the room after us and had not reported bedbugs. He offered no sort of refund, grievance or apology other than a weak "thank you for staying with us and we trust you otherwise enjoyed your stay".
I spoke with him recently, and he remained in denial about the situation simply stating that there must be some other reason that we developed begbug bites. He even admitted that they had a bedbug infestation 6 months ago which he said "had been dealt with"!
I cannot fathom where else we could have developed bedbugs that weekend other than the hotel we slept in. Ramada's refusal to right the situation has led me to post my review on various sites so that others can be made aware of their lackluster customer service.
Beware of the bedbugs!
