I have been a member of Hyde Park for 25+ years. It is a wonderful church - it has a few faults but we are all sinners and fall short....no church is perfect by no means and every church has it clicks. I have been a member there when Dr. Smith was pastor and he was a wonderful preacher until he had to medically retire due to an illness. Dr. Bowman has been pastor here now for 10 yrs and he is a powerful preacher - speaks of truth, speaks of the bible and speaks of prayer!! Yes it is a large church, but it has alot to offer where most little churches don't. I am not knocking little churches because I grew up in one, but feel if you want to be involved, be involved with a church that offers as much as possible for the young people! I cannot say enough for what this church has done for me, counseled me and prayed for me. I have found a few in this church that are somewhat snotty, but you will find this anywhere no matter what church it is. I highly recommend this church to everyone.
Pros: Beautiful church and landscape, wonderful pastor, lots of organized functions, aims towards young people, children and even senior adults.
Cons: Some of the people in the congregation are snobs, but you will find alot of that in a large church or any church for that matter.
