In Short – In warm pinks and greens, with lavishly decorated walls and ceilings, Taj Palace is elegant and welcoming. Indian icons meet the eye and sitar music plays overhead. A window looks into the tandoori oven, from which chefs pull steaming breads and skewers. The crowd is a casual mix of ages and backgrounds. Entrees include tikka masala in a tangy tomato sauce and vegetarian options like navrattan korma, (peas and green beans in a cream sauce).

This place is great. I only visited once this last week, but will put it on my best hit list from now one. Food was wonderful and service was very top notch. I think unless you don't like the style of cuisine, you could not find much better in Austin.

I've enjoyed Taj Palace for many years. I've tried them all the Taj is the best! The food and the atmosphere are top notch. I love lamb, and this is where I get my fix. Their Saag Paneer is truly the best in town.

My husband and I have been going to Taj Palace for several years. My favorite dish is the lamb seekh kabab and my husband's is the chicken tikka masala. The food and service has always been great.

I've been going to Taj Palace for many years now. Though i've tried other indian places in austin, this one always remains our preferred.
First of all, their buffet is great. It offers many meat and meatless options, though i have rarely seen Lamb in the buffet and that's my favorite.
Their naan is fresh and has a nice texture. I've tried all of their curries and they are very nice - although sometimes i bit too salty. I also have enjoyed the various appetizers, fish tikka, and chai.
The ambiance has gone through changes over the years and the current coloring, lighting, and sitar music videos make it a nice place for a date or to bring your mom.

Taj has a wondering buffet! We have been dining there for over a decade. Spinach never tasted so good. Chicken Mushroom curry is the highlight. Try it!
