Professional Air-Conditioning and Engine Service. The air-conditioner of my 1996 Mercury Sable went out in the summer's 100-degree temperatures. The dealer told me he could not get new parts for it, and he did not want to fix it with used parts. I searched and found Carter's on North Lamar and took the car in for an estimate. They were able to find used p[arts easily, and fixed the air-conditioning and an oil leak right away for a reasonable price. I was very happy with the results and would recommend this shop to anyone in a similar predicament.

Honest, reliable, knowledgeable car repair. I have been taking my vehicles to Carter's North for almost three years now, and I can't recommend them highly enough.

I drive an old 1986 Toyota Van for work. It's a very odd vehicle that requires a mechanic with attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot difficult problems. In many cases, I've had to do repairs myself in the past, since I was unable to find a mechanic willing to go the extra mile in keeping the vehicle running for me. Since I rely on the van to produce my income, I can't afford to monkey around with substandard repair work. It wasn't until I moved into this neighborhood and found Carter's that I was able to relieve myself of the burden of doing repairs myself.

There's not enough room here for me to list all of the incidents over the past three years in which Mike, Jake, and the rest of the guys at Carter's have done a fantastic job for me in troubleshooting difficult problems, being straight and reasonable with me about the costs involved, and gone the extra mile in finding parts for a vehicle that can often be really tough to find parts for. I'm not necessarily an easy customer, since I want to know exactly what's going on and have all related costs explained to me in a way that makes sense, and I really appreciate that Mike and Jake are always willing to take the time to do that for me.

Recently, I bought a new (used) vehicle for personal use, and the guys at Carter's again went the extra mile for me, taking a look at vehicles I was considering and giving me the real scoop on whether or not the vehicle would be a good buy. I went with the car that they vouched for, and have been very happy I did.

Whether it's keeping my old high-mileage work vehicle running reliably and smoothly (and exceeding most peoples' expectations for longevity) or helping me out with my most recent vehicle and its purchase, I couldn't be happier with the service I get at Carter's. These guys are a good old-fashioned neighborhood car repair shop. If you want personal service and accountability from a mechanic, look no further than Carter's North.

Great Transmission Shop. I took my truck to another shop who quoted me a high price with repairs that did not need to be fixed. Carters Transmission helped me out saving me money and my transmission works great! Thanks Mike :)

Great, honest, outstanding service. A place with integrity.. I can't say enough good things about this business. I took my car as a last ditch effort to have the AC repaired after two other garages were unable to fix it. Carters worked for several days trying to find the problem. When they initially told me that they had improved the AC, but not made it perfect, they said they would not even charge me for the parts and several days of labor they had into the job. I asked them to keep working on it, and when they tried something no one else had, they fixed it! I am so impressed at their integrity and business practices. Great place to service your car. No one else was able to fix my problem--but they did, and were willing to stand by the quality of their work.

transmission repair. I took my Dodge transmission to carters and they saved me lots of money from the the other shop that i took it too.They wanted to charge me 3500.00 dollars to fix the Transmission .And carters charged me 2600.00 and they gave me a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty... I will tell all my friends ....Thanks alot Mike !!!!!!!!

Excellent AC Shop. My A/C wasn't blowing cold, I took it to Carter's North Store and I thought it was something major. I found out from Mike it was something very simple as a A/C pressure switch. Thanks Mike or the honesty and low cost to fix my A/C. I would recommend this shop to anybody I know.

EXCELLENT AUTO REPAIR SHOP. I HAVE BEEN USING CARTER'S AUTO SHOP (MAINLY NORTH LOCATION) FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS. INITIALLY I TRIED CARTER'S FOR MY MAZDA MX-6 TRANS REPIAR. SINCE THEN I TIRED NUMEROUS OTHER CARS, AND ALWAYS EXPERIENCED PLEASANT OUTCOMES (PERFORMANCE, WARRANTY AND PRICE). ONE TIME, I TRIED MY BMW 7 SERIES AIRCON PROBLEM THAT PREVIOUS OWNER COULD NOT FIX IT WITH BMW DEALER. CARTER DID FIX IT AND WORKED GREAT. VERY IMPRESSED ON JAKE'S (OWNER) AUTO MECHANIC KNOWLEDGE AS WELL AS REPAIR EXPERIENCE!

The Best Ever Service. I went here last week with an A/C issue. The guys are very cool and honest and will bend over backwards to take care of you. Prices are reasonable and they know what they are doing. Can't say enough about how helpful Kevin is. He is the guy to talk to when you want work done. The techs are awesome and will fix your problems quickly and accurately. I highly recommend this place.

Honest. I just drove by and have my car inspected for free for the AC and my axle problem. Ken is a very honest guy who tells me what the problems are, and the cost to repair them. Although I may not have my car repaired over there because of the high cost (it's an very old car, so...probably make some more sense to buy a used one), I feel his knowledge and expertise toward the car he (or his colleague) inspect and the time taken to inspect the car.

Overall, I think if one day my other car has problem, I surely will have them take a look

THERE IS NO BETTER!!!. In the 23 years that I have done business with Carter's the work has ALWAYS been exceptional! Thru the years, I've purchased several used vehicles and this business not only checked it over to make certain it was a good car to purchase, I was given pointers on what needed replacing as far as parts and service. I was able to negotiate the price and drive away in a car that I was happy to have; no buyer's guilt here! Additionally, Carter's works on Imports & domestics and this prevents my husband & I from having to drive all over town for repairs! Did I mention the reasonable rates? I drive a Jeep and my husband drives a Mercedes; our cars are all treated the same there; the best & well cared for! Lastly, he & his crew are trustworthy and honest; thru the years, I've come to trust only Carter's, it was a waste 'checking anyone else out,' coupons & the like, these guys are all you need. I send all my friends to him; when you want and have the best, it's NOT a secret to keep! You'll NEVER go wrong here, I haven't in 23 years & counting!
