I went on a trip to austin to help my friends look for an apartment and we stayed here. We enjoyed our stay very much. It was very private there was an outer entrance door right by our room so we didnt have to go thru the front entrance. The room was very spacious and very clean in fact a little too clean because it smelled of bleach when we came in but after we turned the air on it was fine. The continental breakfast was pretty awesome there was plenty of different kinds of breakfast too eat but you have to get there early if you want any of the good dounuts. over all we enjoyed the stay and would stay again.
The staff were friendly, my room was really clean, the bathroom super clean, the bedding got changed nicely every day, the rooms were quiet, beds good, no sign of infestation to be seen (i checked thoroughly), there is a pool, tv with a few channels, really good free wi-fi and breakfast was adequate (great waffle making machine and doughnut selection as the 'continental breakfast'). All in all i was pretty happy and know from experience that motels in Austin can be far far far far worse.
There is free internet their as well. Or there was when I was there. The place as quiet and chill on a saturday night even though there was a biker rally going on in austin at the time. maybe i just got lucky because i scored a room on the top floor and in the back corner. so it was silent, peaceful and comfortable.
Ihad a nice stay there for the same price as a cheaper quality motel. got way more for my money and felt more comfortable during my stay. i'll be back there this month to stay while on business. cheap stays equals more per diem for my pocket.
Walls were always thick for me. Even
when I had room next to the pool with kids playing in it. It was quiet. Rooms were always clean. Bathroom is average size. This is your average hotel.
Overall, good price. Good place. Don't go expecting an upscale hotel. You get what you pay for. This place is solid.
Its an older property but still gives you the most bang for your buck. I scored my room for only $65 on a Saturday night. where everyone else was charging more. Motel 6 wanted $80 so I left. Hotels/Motels fluxuate prices during weekends and by vacancy so i guess I just happened to be staying in a packed Motel 6 and the Ramada was a little less full so the price dropped. Even though they were only about 3 miles apart.
I have to admit I was a little hesitant
to stay at this hotel but it ended up being far nicer than I had ever expected. The staff was very helpful and polite and went out of their way to be sure that I had an enjoyable stay.
The free breakfast was lovely and there is an IHOP within walking distance of the hotel for those of us who may have been feeling picky.
If you plan on visiting downtown Austin I strongly recommend you rent a car - I had planned on taking taxis everywhere but they seem to be in limited supply in that area... especially during peak tourist seasons.
I'd definitely stay there again.
My wife and I spent one night here on our way to the Austin area. It is an older hotel and it shows its age. That being said, the room was clean, the bed was decent and they even had a hot breakfast.
We had a great stay at the Ramada on our weekend trip to Austin. The manager was very professional and prompt to answer the questions I had. The hotel room was clean, had no bad smells and no bugs. The bed was very comfortable, the much needed one after a long drive. The bathroom was big and very clean. Very good breakfast included in the price. We were pleasantly surprised at all the amenities which we received at such an affordable price. Highly recommended.
