this mongolian barbecue restaurant is closed and out of business ... and has been for a number of months now.
Not worth it
by berudandy
My friends and I decided to go to Mongolian BBQ because we found a coupon for it (had never been before). The expiration date was nowhere close to the date we went there, but for some reason the management refused to accept our coupon. That was the major (but not the only) irk. Other than that, the ambience is severely lacking: dim lighting, old old tables and chairs (parts falling off), and the place in general doesn't seem the most sanitary. The meat comes in the form of frozen chips, and after being cooked, they tasted kind of tough. It was nice how we got complimentary potstickers, egg drop soup, and shao bing (type of bread?), though despite all that, the $10 meal wasn't really worth it. One positive thing: the waitresses are very nice and friendly.
- Pros: nice waitstaff, buffet
- Cons: not very good value, ambience
Old Stale Negative
by hugohoppe
Waitstaff actually rushed us to get us out of there, RUDE! Complete garbage, all of the ingredient offers were sub par in quality and appearance, I don't eat meat but I could tell that the meat there was defrosted prison cafeteria junk, the cook added everything together at once and didn't take cooking times into account, the floors were dingy dingy dingy, depressing lighting, overpriced, sauces lacked quality, I have lived in austin since 91' and this is on my top three BAD Austin restaurants of all time.
- Pros: The owner is a gentle kind man that let us hang out afterhours so we could feed his Seahorses
- Cons: MANY
