Really old expired food. I got Gulab Jamoon and it had insects and when asked about it they said they have good food.

I hope no one gets sick because of there action.

Even there chips etc are old.

I found the other Indian stores in Austin very good.

Great customer service & good food selection. I live nearby and make a habit of shopping here. The frozen snacks are my personal favorite; they offer many frozen selections that are preservative-free and otherwise free of chemicals. Prices are reasonable, service is exceptional, and I usually find what I need.

Love, love, love this store!. I've been shopping here for at least two years and have come to adore this store. They have a great selection, the owners are so friendly and helpful, and I save a lot of money compared to shopping for rice, spices, and other staples at the usual chain supermarkets. It is always a pleasure to shop at MGM.

Beware Of High Prices And Expired Food!. I would CAUTION anyone that visits this store. Firstly I have found that it is far more EXPENSIVE then all of the other Indian stores in Austin. Secondly, I have purchased food from the store that has EXPIRED (and, when I have asked for a refund or exchange, I was denied). There are so many other Indian stores in Austin that are cheaper, and that sell food that has not expired - I suggest you spend your hard earned money at one of those, instead of MGM. I do not think that MGM deserves your hard earned money when there are so many choices.

Friendly, fully stocked store in Rich Creek Plaza attracts Indian cuisine experts and novices.. In Short
Husband/wife Mathew and Ann Mathen offer a variety of dal--the Indian name for legumes such as lentils, yellow and green split peas, kidney and pinto beans, etc. Other groceries include lentil flour, pappadam (flatbread), rice (jasmine, basmati), spices, ghee (clarified butter), nuts, unusual snacks (chickpea flour sticks) and tea. The ingredients are mostly for Indian, Pakistani and Bangladesh dishes, but there are items for Ethiopian, Iranian and Sri Lankan dishes. Indian music CDs and cassettes are also for sale.

Very Hospitalbe!. I just moved here from the east coast and I was looking for a local Indian grocery shop when I ran across MGM. Mr. and Mrs. Mathen are so helpful and inviting. They helped me with recipes and recommedations to local Indian resturants since I am far away from any home cooked Indian meals. They have the largest selection of Indian movies I have ever seen. I was thrilled to have a one stop shop for all my fresh veggies, groceries and Indian entertainment. I found the prices were very reasonable and the service was very welcoming. The only downfall is that the new movie rentals are due in 3 days, back home where I am from movies are rented for a week. I would recommend this to all my friends, except I have very few Deshi friends in Austin.

Please check Expiry date. If you would like to know how a 2 or even 4/5 year old items taste like then you should shop at this place. I was suprised to see many American and Indian family shopping at this place, and yet there has not been a single comment on how this place carry outdated canned eatables. Suprisingly all articles in this shop is costlier than other Indian groceries like the Gandhi Bazar, which have less selection but the stock is new and its cheaper than this store. I would not recommend anyone to shop at this store.
