Dear customer, you're an idiot. Took in a '94 911 Cab 60K miles that needed alot of work - Including having the top replaced and repaired after an unfortunate occurrence with a tree limb.

Ended up with a bill of just more than $10,000. Okay, fine, it'll be in top shape.

On the first attempt to lower the top, which entails pushing a button, the header raised a few inches and the back began to retract and then a loud pop and nothing.

A little unhappy I returned the car, hoping that a simple adjustment was missed, or some other small item was overlooked. I left the car with the understanding that I wanted the car fixed sooner than later as the bill had already been paid and the car had already been there for weeks.

When i returned to my office I received this email from the owner -

We have examined the cabriolet top and found the problem. The problem is that the top lifting cables malfunctioned and the top lifted unevenly. These cables were not part of the damage caused by the tree falling on the car. These cables were checked and adjusted during the repairs and functioned perfectly when tested. The operator of the top must assume some responsibility for observing the lifting process and know when something is wrong. These tops are not idiot proof. We always try to communicate our concerns directly with the owners/operators. Obviously, this was not the case this time. Because of this, the main top bow is broken again. This is a major repair again and will take some time to repair.

I must again stress that when the top is operated great care is needed to watch what is happening. The extent of the repairs is greatly affected by the operator stopping the lift before catastrophic damage occurs.

Matt

Now call me crazy but calling a customer an idiot and assuming said customer is too stupid to lower and raise the top on car owned for more than 10 years just isn't good customer service. Not to mention asinine and rude. The staff was incredulous and boorish to the point the car was retrieved and repaired elsewhere.

I cannot stress how rude and unprofessional this establishment is and I would pay twice as much and drive twice as far to avoid ever having them touch one of my cars again.
