Overpriced!

As most of you know, it is hard to find a good mechanic. Very, very difficult, sometimes. I had a minor problem fixed here about a month ago. It was a little overpriced but they specialize in foreign cars and that's what I have. They did a fine job. No problems since and I was happy. Recently, I woke up to a bit of a leak. I had a good bit of gas pumping out of what was obviously a very old hose. My car is fairly old. It seemed minor enough but I was still expecting a couple of hundred dollars. I have also had a minor oil leak for a couple of weeks. I have watched it and knew where it was coming from and how much I was losing. On average last than a half a quart since my last oil change a month ago, not that much really. I thought I am here fix it all. I recieved a phone call saying that my gas leak was going to be a big ordeal and cost around 360.00. Pretty steep for a quoted around 2 hours of labor but O.k. . Then the big news the oil leak was going to cost 1100-1500. They suggested that I walk away from a perfectly in order car with only 118,000 miles on it. Just ditch it. I immediately picked up my car where I paid them 45.00 to tell me all of that. I then took my car outside of town to a small mechanic where they charged me around 40.00 total and it took them around 45 minutes to fix both problems. The gas leak alone only took 15 minutes and needed 3 inches of rubber hose. What is up with that?
Best Auto Servicing Ever

Whoever heard of a mechanic who does house calls? It's probably not on the normal list of services, but I must say Patrick (the owner) went well above and beyond the norm of any car servicing station I've ever dealt with.
As I was leaving work last Thursday, I was distressed to find my car wouldn't start and no amount of jumping would revive my battery. And to complicate matters, I happened to be parked on the lowest level of the parking garage. I called at least 25 tow companies and no one could tow me out of the garage from that level.
I called Revolution Motors (they have been wonderful every time I've taken my car in) and was fortunate enough to catch Patrick before he closed up shop for the day. I was only calling for an idea of what might be wrong with my car. Patrick wouldn't let me go with just some advice. He actually drove out to meet me by my poor dying car. Then he helped me tow it to street level where a tow truck could take it to his shop. He must have spent at least 2 very hot, garage-air stifling hours helping me.
The next day my car was running in full health and my bank account wasn't drained for it. The guys at Revolution Motors are honest, fair and fast. I wouldn't trust my car to anyone else.
My Favorite European Garage in Austin!
by emilyov
I am not what one would call an expert on cars. Yet Bono, Patrick and all the others at Revolution Motors explain each situation comprehensively and candidly. They are reliable, honest, and accessible. I am so pleased with Revolution Motors that I could not imagine buying another car that would fall outside of the limits they would work on!
- Pros: Pleasant atmosphere, attentive customer service, nice Austin feel to the place
- Cons: Not open on Saturdays
