Our pedi retired, so I switched to Dr. Kibler at the Duval office based on a recommendation. My first impression in the parking lot was that it was a very nice building, but as soon as I walked into their office, I was less than impressed. It was extremely, extremely dirty, with filth on the walls, tables and chairs, dirt piled in the corners, etc. It was early in the day, so this wasn't a result of a busy waiting room. I arrived early as instructed to fill out paperwork, but we didn't get called back until 15 minutes after our scheduled appointment. We then waited in the exam room for more than 15 minutes. The exam room was also very dirty. I was hesitant to even set my child down! The nurse used a yard stick and a pencil on the exam table paper to measure her length, which I thought was very awkward. Dr. Kibler was nice enough, but very awkward. Given it was our first appointment, I thought she would spend a little "get to know you" time, but she didn't. She looked at my daughter, glanced at her chart, asked if I had questions, and then left. Overall I was not impressed by this office at all. Not recommended.
We have been using Capital Pediatrics for three years now and have had good experiences.
We've been at CPG for 15 years and love all the doctors and nurses. With 3 boys, we've kept them busy. My 16-yr old still sees Dr. Hughes. I'll be sad when he has to "graduate" from his pediatrician.
My wife and I have been taking our
first daughter to Capital Pediatric group for 3 years now. We've appreciated their flexibility and professionalism of the office staff. All the Dr's are top notch and take the time to explain things, especially to new parents.
We've just had our second child and will be happy to bring another patient to this wonderful group of Doctors!
We have been going to Capital Pediatric for over 10 years now and we just love the Doctors and the staf. The only way I would consider going somewhere else is if I moved out of central Texas. Our current Doc there is Dr. Frank who we just love. We have seen most of the other doctors in the practice when we have had a sick child and Dr. Frank was out that day and they all have been great but I must admit we still prefer Dr. Frank maybe it is just that he just makes us feel so comfortable. Any ways if you are looking for a new doctor for you child or your newborn Capital Pediatric is the place to go. Did I mention that they have two locations and the doctors rotate around the two locations so you can go to either one. They also have extended hours which is nice. I could go on and on but I don't want to start rambling I'll close by saying agian that we Just love Capital Pediatric Group and have never had any issues with them.
I have two children who are patients and we have been especially pleased with the after hours/weekend hours.
We've been very happy with the doctors and treatment we've received from Capital Pediatrics.
Since our son was born we had a short
stint in the NICU, several well checks, same day appts for pink eye, weekend calls and visits for an ear infection and a call to the nurse for another round of pink eye. Every time we have been happy with the level of compassion, communication and professionalism we've been met with.
Our primary is Dr. Treybig who we absolutely love. She is great with our son, treats us like competent parents and always takes time to answer our questions. We have also seen Dr. Frank several times and have found him to be extremely efficient (which is great for a last minute sick call) and Dr. Ma who was super friendly and great with our son when we had to come in on a Sunday.
When I was pregnant we discussed the option of a smaller practice or family practitioner, but with a very young child I'm glad to have the peace of mind knowing I can call at anytime of any day and reach someone. CPG is a great place!
We have a 6 month old son and have been extremely pleased with the care provided by Capital Pediatrics. As he was a Christmas day baby, I was a bit concerned about when a pediatrician would make it to the hospital but was pleasantly surprised by how quickly Dr. Frank was available. Our little guy has also been prone to pink eye and ear infections and the after hours care provided has been amazing, both effective and easy. Our primary, Dr. Treybig is wonderful and does a great job of balancing efficiency while making sure that we, as first time parents, have all of our questions answered. Plus, its a great location!
I have to add this to my review: I
have read some of these other reviews- and as for the negatives- I have neve,r in the three years I have been there, experianced any of these problems. The staff goes above and beyond for patients. When prescribed medicine, all of the doctors go out of their way to either give me samples, or amazing coupons to make the medicine much more afforadable. Both of my sons have the milk protien allergy. With only a few off handed statements on my part- Dr. Mani was able to diagnose it in my first newborn before we left the hostpital and Dr. Ma was able to diagnose it at my 3 week appoitment in minutes with my second son. On top of that, the nurses have gone so above and beyond to supply me with Nutramigen samples (normally $25 a can) that my son is 10 months old and I have yet to need to pay for a can. The staff is always so sweet and incredibly helpful- both the check in and check out desk is always wonderful. With two kids, I see them a lot and I have never been greeted with anything but smiles. The lactation consultant, Linda, is one of the best in town and you don't have to pay to use her. She just comes with the practice. Her sessions would cost you $100 an hour at any other place in town. She worked amazingly with us for months! She even came over to say hi and check up on my son when she would see us walking the hall.
I can understand that some people may have personality conflicts with doctors-not everyone is going to be warm and fuzzy. Still it's no reason to question any of these doctors love for their jobs or our kids. If a personality conflict does bug you, it's easy to just switch to any of the multiple docs there instead. It's a great practice with a staff and doctors that care.
