Not good for State Inspections.
I took my car into Gordon's Automotive for the state inspection. It didn't pass. They said my monitors were reading "not ready". The very nice older man behind the counter tole me they can diagnose it for $104.50 - I declined. The very nice mechanic/inspector told me to drive my car more. I did then I took it back and the same thing. They let me come back after I fixed my thermostat and sensor. Still the same problem and again the nice older man behind the counter for the third time told me they can diagnose the problem for $104.50 - I declined again (and for the record I really don't like it when they smile and say "we can diagnose it for $104.50". It kinda felt like they trying to scam me) So, I called the Saturn dealer and they told me to bring it in for the inspection and if it has the same problem they automatically diagnose it for no charge because they would know what was causing this problem that reads "monitors not ready" and (they place) I took it to get inspected might not of had the "updated" software to perform a proper inspection.
From now on I'm taking my Saturn in for state inspections to the dealer b/c the dealer will know what was wrong in this situation.
Sorry Gordon's :(
HONEST MECHANICS. I've been taking my Honda to Gordon for a few years now after being screwed by evil mechanics. My in-laws had recommended them. I feel like I've finally found an honest group of mechanics that I can trust. They've had many opportunities to "milk me for everything" but didn't. I've also always had the convenience of dropping it off after hours the night before. They have always promptly called me back with an estimate the next afternoon. I feel like they've saved me from a few expensive mistakes and I'll never go anywhere else!
Not Your Best Choice. The first morning I took my car in to Gordon Automotive, they said they were too busy to even give me an estimate. The next morning I arrived before they even opened, and it still took them over an hour just to assess and estimate my power steering hose. They quoted me $650 for that and a minor a/c problem (which they charge $40 to even look at). I passed and took my car down the road, where I had both problems fixed for $200! I was not impressed and will not be going back.
