The Best Bra store in Austin. I went to Petticoat Fair as I gained weight during my first pregnancy, and was really impressed with the service and staff. I went back to get nursing bras near the end of my pregnancy, and since I've been living in those through two babies in two years, I was in serious need of some new bras that fit properly.

I went back today, and Lea greeted me at the door and immediately took me to a fitting room to get measured. She was really friendly, helpful, and spent almost an hour with me as I tried on different bras at her suggestion. It felt so wonderful to finally have a flattering and well-fitting bra, and I appreciated the time and effort she spent with me. I feel like a sexy woman again, and not just a frumpy mom in an old nursing bra.

Bras are an investment and are really the most important piece of clothing you wear each day, all day long, and they should fit perfectly. I've never had a better experience at another store, and I never plan to shop for bras anywhere else again. Everyone I know says that Petticoat Fair changed their lives, and I have to agree. I walked out of there feeling taller and prettier, and later, a friend remarked that I looked thinner.

The staff was really courteous and friendly, too. Two salesladies checked me out and made friendly small talk during the process. Buying bras can be intimidating, and the staff really goes out of their way to make it a fun experience.

I'm thrilled with my shopping experience and my new purchases.

ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!. First of all I suppose everyone's experience can be different. But it is hard for me to imagine these women being anything but funny, helpful, confident and wonderful. I have been wearing the wrong bra size my whole life (apparently). I popped in yesterday after work determined to FINALLY find the right bra, it is hard to get a fit for 38GG....YEAH, I found 5. The sales lady was so nice, I felt so comfortable. She found me these sexy sheer black, tan and sun fire orange bra's. I really liked them and so did my husband. My chest now sit up where it is suppose to be, a nice snugg fit. They teach you that you are suppose to wash your bra's EVERYTIME you take them off because the natural oils and sweat in your body breaks down the elastic in your bra's. NEVER dry them. So informative!!! I know I will be back over and over again, and bring everyone I know.

4. Had my size available 38GG, that was a shocker!!

Fantastic Experience. I went in for a fitting and had a fantastic experience with sales lady Sarah. She was very knowledgeable and patiently answered my million questions. She quickly found a few bras that were perfect for me. I also really liked the dressing rooms (very large and comfortable). I will be shopping exclusively here from now on!

professionl, competent bra fitting. Sarah was absolutely professional and courteous and provided utmost in privacy for a not so private bra fitting. She made me feel comfortable and this was my first fitting after many years. The sales clerk was friendly and knowledgeable.

Ladies are treated to custom-fitted lingerie at this Allandale boutique.. Since 1964, this intimate apparel shop--which also sells sleepwear, stockings, garters and shower gifts--near Northcross Mall provides Austin women with personalized service and the best-fitting bras and foundation garments possible. Ladies choose from a range of styles and matching sets in bras, bustiers, corsets, panties, bed jackets and petticoats with everything from tulle to hoops. Guests sign in at the front desk and wait their turn (which can take a while on weekends) for a one-on-one bra fitting from the in-store experts. Those who can't achieve that perfect fit in-store can have their bras altered for a custom look.

I will not go back.... I purchased four bras from Petticoat Fair a year ago. They did not have the correct size for me, so they had to order three of them. I took the first home and wore it while waiting for the others to come in, and it was WAY too small in the band. Absolutely painful. In fact I went out and bought a cheapo one that I could get away with until the others came in b/c the one they sold me hurt so bad. I got a call that the others were in, so I went in and told the sales lady that the one I already had was too small. She pooh poohed me, but sent an older saleslady in (possibly the owner). When I showed her what I did not like about the current and new bras, she told me that I did not want bigger b/c the bra would stretch over the next couple of months and then be too big. She talked me into taking the other bras with me, giving me one tan expander and one black expander 'for free' (how generous) to get me through until the bras stretched. Well, it's a year later and I'm still wearing the expanders. NOT what I was hoping for after spending over $200.

Truth is, I've shopped at Petticoat Fair three or four times over the past 8-10 years, and have always been happy with the bras until now. I can't justify going back to a place where they don't take customers seriously but charge this kind of money. I love Wacoal bras, and am happy to pay $50 for each one, b/c they are the only comfortable ones I can find. But this is apparently not the place to buy them anymore.

Waaaay off. They're nice people and all, but I went in for undergarments to wear w/ my wedding dress. I have been the same size for as long as I can remember and their "professional" told me I needed to go up FIVE cup sizes!!! She gave me that size bra to try on and naturally it was way too big, it didn't come close to fitting and under my clothes it looked as if I might as well have not even been wearing a bra at all! But she still insisted that it fit....I don't think I would recommend them to anyone, I think they're just trying to convince women that they were unusual sizes and luckily they just so happen to carry that unusual size... ;(

They made bra and swimsuit shopping fun. Reading the other reviews, it sounds like your experience will be determined by the sales attendant you get. I never had a professional fitting before and was a little uncomfortable with the idea. My sales attendant, Mrs. A, instantly made me feel comfortable. In fact, she made bra and swim suit shopping (two of my more dreaded activities) fun. She was patient, taking the time to explain what she was looking for in the fit. I didn?t find her pushy in the least bit.



I was so far off in my sizing that I went home and tossed all my other bras. I thought the prices were reasonable and in line with what I encounter at most department stores ($35-$65). I noticed that the sales attendent brought me items in a wide price range so I could compare and pick what fit my budget. She also helped me pick out a great swim suit to fit my body type. I will definitely be going back.

I am not going anywhere except Petticoat Fair for my bras.. I have been to several department stores for bra fittings. Never have I received a bra that fit or was as well constructed as Petticoat Fair. I lived in Austin when I first became a customer. I now make a couple of visits there each year. I don't mind paying more for a bra that I actually wear because it fits properly and is comfortable. I recently bought a name brand bra from Kohls, Bali. After washing the bra and wearing it for a few hours I took it off and will not wear it again. Even though it was less expensive it was a waste of money and time. The staff at Petticoat Fair listens when I say, I am picky, I don't want anything itchy and I can't stand seams in a bra. I will return. Oh, I have also taken my daughter and her partner. Being a mother of a gay daughter we do get lots of stares. We were treated fair in this establishment.

FIRST TIME PROFESSIONAL FITTING. I looked this company up on the City Search and read some mixed reviews. I decided to give them a try anyway, and I was really satisfied with the service. I think dissatisfied people have a lot of energy to get rid of and they are more likely to spend time on something like this. If all of the ratings were perfect, I most likely wouldn't have taken the time to write a review, but I felt I should take the time because Petticoat Fair deserves some kudos!
