I have had good service from other optical shops in Austin, but North Austin Optical tops my list. Along with a new prescription, I selected new frames last December, wore some off and on for over 3 months, but I never really really adjusted to or liked the new frames. So I wore my old glasses primarily until I finally called Myron to see what cost me to change out my frame for a 2nd time-- I went by and carefully picked out a new frame..no additional charge..whatsoever..zero. I love my new frames and am wearing all the time now. Martha S

I had been through several pairs of progressive lenses and frames with little success over several years. I could never get the right combination. My new eye doctor recommended Myron at North Austin Optical. He was absolutely fabulous and listened to what my needs were. That was over a year ago and I've never been happier. I went in the other day for an adjustment and he called me by name even though it had been so long since I'd been in. I was shocked...service like that just doesn't exist many places anymore. He adjusted my frames in seconds and I was on my way.

I previously bought eyeglasses at the impersonal big retailers. Now, after my first two pairs of eyeglasses from North Austin Optical, I will never go anywhere else for eyeglasses. I have very poor vision. These new eyeglasses were made perfectly. I highly recommend this shop for excellent customer service from Myron.

the reviews are true, great service.. I went to Myron on the strength of these reviews, I normally don't go alone to buy glasses and since I don't need a strong prescription I haven't gotten new ones in 13 years. I was worried about the change and had a prescription in hand for months waiting for frames I liked.

He was great, actually TOLD me some of the pricey frames weren't as nice as the other, less expensive ones, and didn't try to upsell lenses. The selection isn't cheap but I got a pair (that he recommended for my face) that I'm in love with and get daily compliments on.

I came on Saturday and had them Wednesday with superior quality to my last pair from Four Eyes. If you go to him, you won't go comparison shopping after--search ended!

Superior customer service. Even though this is an "out of network" provider for my insurance, I go to North Austin Optical for the reliable and superior customer service. The owner is very experienced and knowledgeable. Particularly if you have a somewhat unusual prescription (as I do), you can be sure your eyeglass needs will be truly attended to here -- for me, that's worth the additional out-of-pocket expense!

Wonderful Personalized Service. When my family moved to Austin in 1984, I didn't wear glasses, but the rest of my family did. Our opthamologist recommended North Austin Optical. Because of the welcoming atmosphere and excellent professional knowledge Myron Rigg always provided, I never thought to give my business to anyone else when I began to wear glasses almost 20 years ago. (Even when my brother moved back to the northeast, he brought his new prescription with him when he visited so he could get his glasses from Myron.) I've never had an issue of not being able to use my glasses immediately, even with my first pair of bifocals! I know that I can go in any time for my glasses to be tightened or adjusted. About two months ago, I took my mother in to get new nose pads on her glasses. Myron took a look at my glasses and replaced the nose pads on mine as well. The quality products offered and the wonderful, personalized service Myron provides is what keeps us as his customers.

Excellent Optician. I update my glasses about every 12 years. I stopped by North Austin Optical after it caught my eye (no pun intended) when I was exiting Lowe's parking lot on Shoal Creek. Myron Rigg helped me find a great pair of frames that were totally suitable for my extremely thick lense prescription which now includes a prism for double vision. They are also the most "with it" frames I've ever bought. Now my eyes get frequent breaks from my hard contact lenses & they are so happy. I'm thrilled to have comfy glasses that fit AND look good if I decide to wear them in public. After mentioning North Austin Optical to several people, I found they were already customers. The owner, Myron Rigg, is 100% service oriented & I'd recommend his shop to anyone & especially to folks with more complicated lense needs. He knows glasses. Quality work & refreshing customer service. I might get my glasses updated more often now!

Smart man and excellent service. After literally going to all the "big-box" optical shops in town along with several optometrists' shops, I doubted I'd ever find someone who really knew what they were doing with my glasses. Thank goodness I grumbled to a co-worker who told me about Myron Rigg! He has helped me from the first time I walked in and has been invaluable in helping me figure out how to see well for work between cataract surgeries. I'm eagerly awaiting getting my next glasses after the final surgery and then new sunglasses. I've looked at all the frames and love the variety i see. He owns the shop, values his customers highly and works fast and well. His experience in the field make him great at problem-solving. I wish I'd found him 20 years ago!

Great service, exceptionally nice man!. I picked North Austin Optical out of the phone book on a Saturday when I had sat on my glasses and needed a new pair ASAP. That was about 10 years and two or three pairs of progressive lenses and frames ago.

I can't say enough good things about Mr. Rigg. He has a good selection of frames, his prices are competitive, doesn't try to sell you things you don't need, knows which frames will accommodate progressives, carefully fits every one, and takes the time to adjust them later on. And he gets lenses back to you more quickly than other opticians whose wares I've looked at.

Now I have lost my good pair, and two days ago, my back-up pair must have fallen out of my pocket into the dry grass in my yard. I'm going back to Mr. Rigg.

Progressive Lens Success!. I recently began wearing glasses. After a visit with the optometrist I was given a prescription for a small add on reading and although not necessary, I could benefit from a small correction in distance. I could go either reading glasses or bifocals/progressive. I decided to jump in with both feet and went to the big box eyeglass shop next door and got standard shop progressives. After 3 weeks, I cried Uncle! The peripheral blur and swim effect was not something I could get used to. I got prescription reading glasses and went down that road. I have a desk job and although readers work great at my computer, going to meetings, the bathroom, or to have a conversation meant taking off my readers. After a few months of constantly taken them off and putting them back on I decided there had to be a better solution!

I found the world of quality progressives from companies like Hoya, Zeiss, and Varilux and after quite a bit of research decided on Varilux. I found North Austin Optical in the list of local dealers, among a few others, and began researching a local optician. My research yielded that Myron might be the guy for me and was he ever! He took a great deal of time to help me assess my situation and fitted me for a very nice pair of Varilux progressives. I have adapted wonderfully to my new progressives and could not be happier.

Myron is a one man operation. He helps you with frames, he talks to you about your options, he fits you, he grinds down the lab lenses, he does everything there. Probably even takes out the trash himself! I think this is a big benefit. He adjusted where my progressive add begins because of a trend he saw as I tried on frames. I wear my frames a bit lower on my nose than most folks, so he changed the spot where the progressive begins accordingly.

Myron runs the type of local business that is part of the reason so many folks prefer to deal with smaller local shops. Personal, experienced, and professional attention!
