Don't go to this barbershop if you're Black.... ...they flat out refused to cut my hair. The reason they cited was "We don't cut that kind of hair here." It's one thing to not be trained to cut a Black person's hair, but it's an entirely different thing to lose all tact and professionalism and say something like that. If you're looking for a good, old fashion barbershop, go to The Wooten on Guadalupe. This place is about as lame as it gets.

Austins Best Barber. I have been a customer of Pete's Flattop Shop for over 17 years or longer and wouldn't go anywhere else. Phillip is my barber and he cuts a great flattop and always makes me look my very best. I would highly recommend any of the barbers at Pete's as they are all fantastic at their trade. They also cut the best flattop in Texas hands down. I like my flattop tight and thats what I always get. They also do regular and razor cuts as well and do a great job but flattops is their game.

arm and a leg. great hair cuts the most friendliest guys, but can only afford three times a year

Old school barber shop - Great cut, low on ambiance - which is perfect. So I have been going to salons for years - here in Austin after 4-5 mediocre cuts I settles on Bradz ($45). We she left after 8 months and the 3 new folks I tried their just kept doing worse and worse. Went to Avant ($60) and as a man I can appreciate a good cut but seriously my hair is less than an inch long sixty bucks is just ridiculous.

Went to Flyod's ($19) but the stylists were inconsistant. Decent cut but grew in odd every time. I finally realized...who cut my hair best - guys in a barber shop!

Pete's FTS ($17) did not dissapoint. Open 8am to 3 or something 4 days a week...I got there at9am on Saturday and got right in the chair with Phil. Great guy, in fact all 3 of them were really friendly and funny. FYI Pete has been their since 1968. Most the furniture looks that old too but you know what - we're men! Who cares! Stop being so metro and get a man cut!

I went for the medium Ivy league (a cut from my past) and it looks stellar. My wife loves it. Frankly it is the best cut I have had in years. And Phil is the first person to listen to me when I said how long I wanted it...I'm not saying women don't listen...but they don't! ha.

Great cut, good guys and a super price.

Best Haircuts in Central Texas. If you want an old fashion men's taper cut or a classic flat top, you won't find a better place in Texas. Oscar (third chair from the door) is especially gifted at creating the perfect flat top. Just tell him short, medium or long; he'll do a bald fade on the sides or a classic taper -- just tell him; All four barbers cut superb traditional men's cuts, but the flat top is their specialty and no inferior cuts walk out the door. You can't go wrong!

Great Traditional Barbershop. I've been all over town trying to get a good, consistent flat top, but Pete's is the only place I've found so far that'll do it right. Admittedly, I haven't tried all of the more storied barbers in the area, but I'm tired of looking.

It's a 30 minute drive from Round Rock, but I'll take it every three weeks - any one of the four guys there will set you up right!

Downside - bring cash - they won't take anything else.
