Editorial Review for Dallas Nightclub – by Tara Hall
In Short
A sprawling dance floor is surrounded by four lengthy bars. Troughs of beer are scattered throughout, manned by half-dressed waitresses. Bar stools line the dance floor--front-row seating for interested onlookers. Larger groups mingle around one of a handful of tables dispersed throughout the club or the pool tables situated off to the side. As expected, country music resonates the majority of the time, but don't be surprised when the occasional hip-hop or pop song interrupts.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoAlthough the specials are hard to beat, there's almost always a cover. Ladies have the advantage on Saturdays when there's no charge.
ParkingParking is a nightmare the later it gets, making the convenient and moderately priced valet extremely useful.
The ExtrasA couple of times a year on a specified night, ladies can pick up a V.I.L. card allowing them free valet and no cover, valid until the next V.I.L. opportunity.
When to GoWednesdays are popular with students and young professionals, when longnecks and most bar drinks are a mere 69 cents. Singles take advantage of this special also, lining the walls and walkways for a better view of those circulating. On busy nights like these, it's best to arrive early.
Happy HourFriday happy hour open at 6pm. Enjoy 75 cent selected longnecks till 8pm. Buffet every Friday.

There are far better places to country dance that are less cheezy. Granted a lot of people go for Wednesday night drink specials, but watch out for the cheating bartenders who like to add their own tips (i.e. writing a "1" before whatever tip you leave them). In case you don't already do this, pay cash or if you must use a debit/credit card at this place make sure you write VERY legibly and draw the dollar sign as close as possible to your amounts. Not too impressed with the management of this place either,. After confronting the manager about this disgusting abuse of tips, she replied with "Well, There's no way to know that [you] didn't tip him double the base cost amount for the beverages". Right, I tipped double the amount of 2 beers. The bartender must've been that good!! Like I said, cheezy and sleazy. Watch your bank statements.
Pros: Close enough to central and north for friends to meet up, cheap drinks
Cons: Bad management, sneaky bartenders who overtip themselves

Dallas has the best dancers in Austin. On a busy night it may be hard to find one with all the kids there. It can be a little clicky. Tue night dance lessons are the best free lessons in Austin for country. The staff is always friendly, although on a busy night it's had to get a waitress. The DJ's are ok, although they do need to play more danceable music instead of the side B songs. In a dance hall the DJ's should be dancers so they know what people want to hear and dance to.
