I scheduled Blue Whale and due to the size of my home and items, a sales representative came to my home to take an inventory and provide a quote. She told me that due to the size of my move, they would send 2 trucks with 5-7 movers. The morning I was to move, I received a call from the driver telling me he was on the way - - with 1 other guy. When I told him there was no way the 2 of them could move my entire house, I was referred to the Operations Director. When I called and spoke to the Ops Dir., he was indignant and told me they would never send that many people - - his two guys would do it and it would take them 12-13 hours. Imagine what your furniture will look like after 2 guys have been loading and unloading your items for 13 hours straight!!! When I told him this isn't what they committed to in their quote, he told me Too Bad, he was Canceling my move and hung up on me. Since I had to be moved that day, I had no other choice but to call back. He made me apologize so he would reinstate my move -- unbelievable. The movers were fantastic! They had an incredibly good attitude and did a fantastic job. I bought extra insurance to cover any damage to my items. The one item that was damaged was my stainless steel refridgerator which received a dent on the front door -very noticable. I have called and emailed for 45 days but have received no service. The person I talk to is very polite, she tells me she will send someone out to inspect the damange, but I never hear anything again. If you have items (not your standard college or apartment move), I'd be very cautious about using this company. The gentleman who moved us told me that it has just been sold and the new management is neither responsible nor trustworthy and treats their movers very poorly - - meaning high turnover and low morale.
Pros: Excellent team of movers
Cons: The office staff is unresponsive and disreputable

I had a terrible experience with Blue Whale movers about a year and half ago. I scheduled my move a month prior to moving day. I recieved confirmation paperwork. The day of the move, they didn't show up! I had to call several people before I got a person in charge. Then, they claimed to not have seen me scheduled and gave me a TON of excuses. I demanded someone get there. Three hours after the scheduled time, they were on their way. When they actually got there, the movers did fine but nothing extraordinary. Use someone else. I am moving again in a month and will not be using them. I will NEVER recommend them to anyone either. Poor customer service. It was a truly awful experience.
Pros: My things arrived to my new apartment safely and relatively unharmed.
Cons: They were HOURS late and rude on the phone.
