Austin >Balina Bridal
Balina is one of 6 bridal stores I recently visited in Austin. Looking, of course, for a the perfect wedding gown.
After the treatment I received at Baline, I would *never* consider purchasing a dress from them, nor recommend the store to another person. My friends, who accompanied me to help me find my dress, were rudely told not to touch the wedding dresses. I was also told that friends-of-the-bride were not allowed to pick dresses for the bride. After selecting several dresses to try on, the staff of the store told me I could not continue looking at more dresses, and that I already had too many to try on. I was asked my budget, and told I could not try on dresses outside of my budget. The consultant who helped me was inefficient, and lacked knowledge of the products. She could not, for example, tell me the materials that dresses were made out of. After 45 minutes, my consultant told me her next appointment was in, and that if I wanted to try on anything else I would have to schedule another appointment at a later time.
My overall experience at Balina Bridal was horrific. These are people with huge egos, terrible customer service skills, poor knowledge base, and shameful manners.
If you have not yet visited Balina Bridal salon, you definitely should. There truly is no other experience like it in Austin. Where else could you possibly see verity of stunning gowns of impeccable quality and construction And meet with and discuss your gown with the designer herself? Where else does the designer actually making your gown will take pictures with you and autograph her catalog for you?
Great experience, I met with the designer Jane Wang (janewangny) at Balina Bridal, her design's are truly spectacular. You will never be able to come close to the wonderful service and joyful appointments that you will receive at Balina Bridal. Simply is the best bridal salon!!
Beautiful salon. All the dresses are lovely!.
Beautiful salon. All the dresses are lovely! Had a great experience here.
This place was the first salon I visited to try on dresses. I was lured all the way from Dallas by Pronovias? trunk show. The sales lady first asked me a lot of questions about the type of wedding I was going to have, as well as my style to find out which designer might suit me the best.
I didn't find anything on sale (although you can get a fantastic deal if you're lucky), but found a gorgeous Jane Wang dress that I loved, although it was at the outer limits of what I was willing to pay for THE dress.
I decided to shop around a bit more and check out some other designers, but I really liked the ambiance, the dresses, the service and the overall experience.
This week I drove back to Austin and back to Balina Bridal, looked at some Demetrios gowns but ended up ordering THE dress.
Update: went back in April 2011 for my cousin
our family bought 2 dresses at Balina Bridal. My dress and my cousin Lila. It is really a wonderful place to shop. they always mentioned that alterations are needed for every dress. they don't do the alterations at Balina, so they have no benefit from ordering except the dress and the size you wanted. I always recommend them, the ladies there are very knowledgeable and helpful. and the gowns are unique.
RUDEST SERVICE IN TOWN!!!!!!!!. I am actually writing as the bride's wedding coordinator. I'm sure all brides or coordinators can empathize. We all run a bit behind in our chaotic pursuit to plan a wedding and find the perfect dress. We had appointments booked from minute to minute the entire day, but unfortunately the brides dog got into a horrible accident and LOST AN EYE, which put us a bit behind. I informed the lady at Balina Bridal that we were running a bit late, but we would arrive for sure. We ended up being about 50 mins late. As soon as we walked in, we weren't greeted, but I finally got someones attention. An older slender lady w/ a short hair do came out and greeted us, finally. I told her we were here for our 1:30appt and she immediately put on a snooty face. I told her " I realize we are running a bit late". Her response, with an UGLY face I might mention, was " Ughhhh, LATE?! , more like an HOUR late." This was said in a very rude tone. We both operate a business and our family owns several businesses in town. Never in a million years would we treat our customers that way. I immediately told the bride, LETS GO. I have no tolerance for RUDE service. Especially when the bride's budget is 10,000 on a dress. Its unfortunate for Balina Bridal and anyone else that puts up with such unneccessary rudeness. She didn't know our circumstance, nor did she realize she lost a very good client. Unless you want to be treated unfairly and quite frankly RUDELY, do not shop here. There are SEVERAL other bridal stores in town that offer EXCELLENT service as well as lower prices. THis place is completely over rated.
The best bridal shop!. I knew I wanted to purchase my dress from Balina after I tried on dresses there. When I did make my purchase, Deborah gave me a big hug and told me ?congratulations?. She was so nice and very genuine. I moved out of town shortly after, so I had to have my dress shipped to me. When I received the dress and it was too small, I called Deborah to see what options we had. I was really afraid she was going to tell me that all sales were final. That is how most bridal shops are. Instead, she totally empathized with me and promised we would work something out. She handled everything from calling the manufacturer to getting the correct size sent to me. She frequently communicated on the dress status over e-mail and by phone. I got the dress that I wanted 3 weeks later. It was perfect thanks to Deborah. I would recommend Balina to anyone looking for fantastic personal customer service. They without question care for their clients and will do everything they can to make their special day perfect.

Wonderful Experience. I had a great time having my dress made at Balina Bridal. They were helpful, attentive and went out of their way to help me. They helped me to tailor a dress to fit the style of my destination wedding and my size (I am very short!!) I have recommended Balina to many of my friends and they have had a great experience as well!
