HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Do NOT go to this restaurant!!! My family and I went here a couple of weeks ago and had a great experience so we decided to go back. Bad move on our part. It was crowded which I understand, it was Father's Day. However, when our waiter finally came over he was rude and arrogant. For the rest of the time we were there he had an attitude. When my sister asked for a cup of ice for my mom, he brought it back about 5 min. later and practically threw it on the table at her and just left without saying a word. We sat through his horrible service and then when he brought the checks they had added gratuity on. My stepdad asked to speak to the manager who was standing just around the corner. When the waiter went over we heard him tell her "The service was great" so she already came over assuming that whatever we were going to say was not true. When we told her we wanted the gratuity removed, she asked why. We explained to her that the waiter had been rude the whole time and inattentive. Her response was "Well, he was inattentive because we were busy." Well, that may have been true when we got there but the restaurant had been practically empty for at least the second half of the time we were there. I told her just because you are busy is no excuse to be rude. Well, I guess she didn't like that & she took the checks and walked away. As soon as she did that, the waiter came up behind her and said none of that was true, that we were lying because he gave us incredible service. I turned around and told him "You don't need to lie." Obviously he knew he was in the wrong or else he wouldn't have immediately told her that the service was great when we asked to speak with her. Anyway, I went next door to get some cash to pay b/c I didn't trust them with my credit card & while I was gone I found out the manager came over and told my family she didn't appreciate me yelling at her employee. Are you kidding me? I've never been anywhere that has reprimanded the customer for complaining!

Tex-Mex to Die For. La Morada; perhaps the closest I'll ever get to culinary Heaven! First-rate Chef(s), with a unique facility for recognizing and achieving 'perfection'. I've had Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner there numerous times and can't wait to dine there again. Owner leads by example with up-close-and-personal touch, and wait-staff the friendliest in Austin. Everything on the menu is superb! All 'plates' are attractively presented and piled with very fresh and tasty ingredients; a virtual 'feast' for your eyes.......and (of course) your tummy! I HIGHLY recommend this ultra-good, ultra-friendly, ultra-clean and well-kept Tex-Mex Restaurant. Viva! La Morada!

Family owned. You always feel welcomed when you are there. We have been visiting La Morada for many years. The food is tasty and the frozen margaritas are wonderful! We also like getting the appetizers to start off. The owner and his staff are really nice people. Many, many returns... ! :o)

New Great Tortilla Soup. I've been going to La Morada for many years. The food is always good. The tortilla soup they had was good but very different. Today I got a nice surprise they have a new tortilla soup, it is wonderful.

They also have pretty good queso.

Sloppy Nacho's were Awsome; Ice cold beer. Nice restaurant the sloppy nachos are great. The burrito was huge.

Went in for a drink and to meet friends to go someplace else, we ended up staying for dinner.

The owner was there and chatted with our group a couple minutes...nice touch.

Better than it looks on the outside. This place doesn't look promising given its unassuming front next to the HEB, but the chicken enchildas make it really stand out. I thought everything else was fairly average and the portions for queso and guacamole were a little smaller than other restaurants, but the chicken enchiladas with ranchero sauce were amazing! Their happy hour for beer, margaritas, and 1/2 price appetizers lasts until 7:00 and even though the margaritas were very salty and sour I'll be back again. All in all a good place to try if you live in the neighborhood!

Incredible margaritas and great prices!. La Morada has some of the best house frozen margaritas I've tasted in Austin! The prices are right, the service from Justin and Jose was excellent, and the food is delicious. You've got to try the Queso Lodo! The only negative I found was that the salsa was a bit bland and not spicy or salty enough. Otherwise, it is a great place for dinner or happy hour!

the perfect unknown mexican restaurant. this is where i go when i'm feeling blue or when i find it necessary to be indulgent. great veggie selection, great enchiladas. the choice! the choice is where you get to pick from from an assortment of guacamole salad, tacos, chalupas, soup and an enchilada entree. fantastic! the vegeladas are heaven. the only downside is the initial chips and salsa, but the salsa tastes great as an accompaniement

Not group friendly. We went with a group of ladies who needed separate tickets, or at least, a ticket that showed individual orders. When the waiter wouldn't help us, the manager came out and explained it wasn't his policy to "break down" orders and told us to use our calculators. The waiter, was nice, but he was caught in a bind because of his boss. When we left, the manager made a sarcastic remark. Needless to say, we won't be back.

My Favorite Tex-Mex Restaurant. La Morada has been my favorite since it opened in 1983. The owners, food (queso!!!), margaritas, and laid back atmosphere are unbeatable, and I can't think of anywhere I'd rather eat my Mexican. Mmmm!
