HORRIBLE!. This was by the far the WORST bbq...maybe even the worst food EVER. I had the half chicken and the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese had zero flavor and the chicken was blood red, I know meat will have pink in it when it is smoked but this was blood spots. My boyfriend had the 3 meat platter he had brisket, turkey, and ribs. The brisket tasted like pot roast and had the most enormous layer of fat the surrounded it. Biggest waste of 25 EVER He also had the beans and it had chunks of unrecognizable meat in it and they were pink. JUST HORRIBLE! RUDY'S BBQ is where its at!! GO THERE

Best barbecue anywhere!. This is the best barbecue anywhere! The brisket was tasty and moist and all of the side dishes are equally good. The jalapeno sausage was hot but flavorful. The rolls are fresh and warm and fried green tomatoes are to die for! I am visiting from California and can honestly say there is not a barbecue place as good as this one. I will frequent this restaurant every chance I get when visiting my family in Austin.

Second class customer. I love Mann's Smokehouse. I love the ambiance, the BBQ and salad, and the reasonable prices. I go to Mann's two or three times a month. However, my last visit gave me pause. I felt that I had been treated like a second class customer rather than as an appreciated regular.

This is what happened. I ordered the lunch special, BBQ pork ribs, and I was given two small dried and chewy end pieces. The man behind me ordered the same, and he was given two large juicy pink ribs. The Manns, Jim and Sally greeted the man by his first name and the man put a tip in the tip jar. I eyed his ribs and looked at my own. There was a big difference.

This incident reminded me of the time that I had visited Arky's restaurant and got the renown turkey dinner special. The turkey on my plate consisted of very small disintegrated pieces of dry turkey. I couldn't tell what part of the turkey I had. A man who came in after me and who sat beside me at the counter ordered the turkey special too, but he slipped a dollar or so to the person taking the order and told him it was for the cook.In contrast to my order, he received large slices of discernible turkey breast. Again, I felt like I had been treated as a second-class customer, and as a result I never returned to Arkey's again. That was a long time ago, and I believe that restaurant is no longer in business. I will probably still go to Mann's, but not as frequently. I think that I will look for another BBQ place.

Free Homemade Ice Cream at Lunch on Fridays!. Great BBQ. If you don't like fat on your brisket then tell the guy behind the counter that you don't want the "flava". Go to lunch there on Fridays. They pass out some of their homemade ice cream then. The strawberry or the peach is great! The pulled pork is good. They have fried green tomatoes as well. The sauce isn't too spicy and isn't too sweet. The couple that owns the place seem to really enjoy pleasing their customers.

Awesome BBQ. The best barbeque I've had in quite a while. They have so many sides to choose from and everything is delicious!

Now Mann's. Donn's now has a sign that says Mann's, but it is the same restaurant essentially. The workers are the same super friendly workers, and the potato salad recipe (which is my all time favorite potato salad) is the same awesome recipe. The quality of meat is the same. The sauce is the same. The tea is the same. I am inclined to say it is the same awesome bar-b-que restaurant. There have been many menu items added, but I can't vouch for them. The bar-b-que and potato salad is way too good to waste my time on trying their green beans or chicken fried steak! Try a Dublin Dr. Pepper - the kind in a vintage bottle and still made with sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup - if they have them - perfect for bar-b-que!
