Pleasantly surprised............ A group of friends of mine got together today (Sunday Aug 28th,2011) at Marie's, for Brunch, I was expecting terrible service, instead, excellent service. Wonderful food... we did have to wait for the Mahi Mahi (place was packed) other then that, will come again. Visited during the hrs of 11:45am to 1pm

Don't believe all the bad reviews.Check it out for yourself. ;0)

Down-home, Midwest-style cooking and a straightforward menu to please the whole family.. In Short
Marie Callender's began in the 1940s in Orange County, Calif., as a bakery that specialized in pies. Now, pie is only a slice of this nationwide franchise's offerings. Family-style comfort foods like pot roast, pot pie, tuna melt and country-fried steak as well as pasta, burgers, salads and sandwiches dominate the menu. But, the big draw is still pie: More than 31 freshly-baked varieties are available daily. Whole pies also can be purchased to go.

Turkey Quality Has Declined. The turkey at Marie Callendar's used to be outstanding. The restaurant used to roast its own turkeys. Now it buys processed boneless turkey rolls, and there is a big difference. The turkey is rubbery and salty. Better to buy your own turkey and roast it or buy deli turkey meat and make a sandwich. It's better and cheaper than Marie Callender's

I'm not a fan of the pies. Some years ago I bought a couple of pies here and found them too sweet.

High Expectations Yield Disappointment. My friend Barbara and I went yesterday to the north location of Marie Callender's for lunch. She said that Souper Salad has a much better salad bar and I thought my salmon was ordinary. The bill was almost $30 and we only had tea to drink. The waiter did not keep our glass full and was unfriendly. However, he was competent when we were lucky enough to catch sight of him during his perfunctory run through our area.
