Menus Changed. Macaroni Grill used to be my favorite place to get my Italian food fix. Their chicken marsala was the best that I have ever eaten and probably will ever eat. So I used to go there at least once a month to get my favorite meal. I went last night and I ordered my usual. When they brought me the plate my heart sank. A huge disappointment. They have completely dumbed down their whole menu and made the quality of their food a lot cheaper. Now it is bland and not good tasting. The portions are much smaller now and not as high quality. I asked to speak to the manager and she said that corporate had changed their menu recently and she has already gotten several complaints about the new menu. I am so sad that my favorite Italian restaurant has cheapened their menu and now sunk to the level of olive garden. I will not be returning here until they bring back their original menu and quality.
Performing chefs cook up rustic, home-style Italian entrees at this buzzing family restaurant..
In Short
A boisterous, all-ages crowd of pasta lovers pack this energetic Italian spot, where chefs clad in white hats and red scarves keep diners wide-eyed by showing their moves in the busy open kitchen. The menu boasts family-sized portions of hearty traditional fare, from antipasti, chicken and pasta dishes to seafood, steak and wood-fired pizzas. Signature plates include grilled pork chops, lobster ravioli, and penne rustica with shrimp, grilled chicken and smoked prosciutto in cream sauce.
Avoid on friday nights. I went there wid a couple of friends friday nite around 8pm and was pleasantly surprised to find that there was no waiting! I ordered a new item on menu - Ravioli and it was horrible. The sauce that was used all watery and tasted like milk. I love to eat raviolis at any italian restaurant and this just spoiled my appetite forever it seems... arrghhh.. I have been to this place before and I have loved it otherwise. The servers in a hurry to lock up the restaurant. I like quick service but as soon as I was seated, bread arrived and our servfer was ready to take the order. and the food arrived in less than 10 minutes. I would advice people to try the place during lunch hour only and stay away from the raviolis ;)
Incredible food, great bargain, and wonderful service..
My husband and I went on our second date here and it was a wonderful experience. The food was phenomenal and the service was great. I get the same thing when I go, now: the create-a-pasta dish with spinach, artichokes, and mushrooms with penne pasta and their garlic cream sauce. It's to die for!
Also, calimari is fantastic, so is the artichoke dip. And, I really don't like fried mozarella, but their's is really great. It's more of a chunk of cheese as opposed to a little stick.
Only thing is, sometimes there's a wait. But, the food is well worth the wait, and you can't beat the bargain. We had my pasta dish, the lobster ravioli, an appetizer, and two sodas for about 32 dollars.
Great Italian Food. Macaroni Grill doesn't disappoint at this location. The eggplan parmesean is delicious!!! If you're dieting though, beware of portion sizes, you'll have lunch and dinner!
Best Italian around. I don't care that it's a chain, I swear this place has the best Italian food around. Piping hot bread served up to start, wine by the jug based on honor system, and of course the waiter writing their name upside down on your paper table cloth in crayon just adds to the festive experience. You have to order the Penne Rustica, but not more than once a week. It is rich, hot, and oh so good.
Enjoyed my lunch.. I had lunch here last week and was really pleased with both the service and food. This chain is generally unpredictable, but my one experience with this location was completely positive. Ill definitely be back. While we were there a waiter sang Happy Birthday in Italian to a table. What an amazing voice!
food doesnt make up for service. Went on 4th of July and it was decidedly dead, but it still took awhile to get our food and we were not pleased with the service. The bellini was excellent but there was nothing especially italiany about the italian margarita. The artichoke dip appetizer was runny and only average, and the toast that came with it was far too salty. Main courses were no more than ok...the halibut was fine but the pesto orzo was bland, the pasta milano was good, but was less than impressed w/ the classic trio. Don't try the fried candy bar dessert.
Service?.
I went with my wife last Saturday night (about 9), we were seated at a nice table and...
they totally forgot about us!!! A waiter never came to ask what we wanted to drink, we had to waitresses walking past less than 15 feet away but never noticed our waiving trying to call their attention.
Finally we left anf they didn't even notice.
