In Short
Amy's Ice Cream has been a tradition since Amy Miller opened the first shop in 1984. With such homemade flavors as Mexican vanilla, sweet cream and, for the truly Texan, Shiner Bock, there's an ice cream concoction here for veryone. On warm evenings, a crowd of families and couples gather and the murmur of friendly chit-chat can be heard over the sound of paddles beating candy or cookie mix-ins into ice cream scoops.

The ice cream is homemade and they mix anything you want into it also with a show too! They have trivia questions for a free mix in and they are open late. A little pricey but a great treat!

As much ice cream as I've ever had, and that's a LOT, Amy's is the absolute best by far. Their multitude of flavors can make it hard to choose which is best, but sampling flavors can be fun! The Mexican Vanilla with Heath Bar crush-ins is my favorite, but other combinations are also good. Be adventurous and give them (all) a try!

I love Amy's Ice Cream and although this location is closer to my house, I aways go to the one on Burnet. For some reason, this location accepts checks and cash---but not DEBIT/CREDIT cards. Plus, they aren't open on Sundays!
