Good fajitas, but overpriced for the quality.

Inconsistency be thy bane!. I keep wanting to like this place, it's walking distance! My standard criteria is based on price, service and food quality. Prices are good; service is erratic and food quality is the most inconsistent factor. The biggest problem with this establishment is that the cooks take no pride in their plating, biggest problem is that food sides are always cold. I've had some good plates, however, it's a crap shoot. Staff can either be very charming or rude,

This establishment suffers inconsistency.

Frankly, I've started taking the bus to another establishment off of Research and Burnett - it's worth it!

I understand they have a new Chef will check out again in a couple of months.

I love this place. I love this place. I go to it about once a week and it is consistently good. The San Antonio is a good combo with alot of food, and the queso is just as good as chuys. The fish tacos are also good, but I haven't tried much more. This place is great for Tex Mex and is only about a half step below chuys. You have to give this place a try.

NEW ANTONIOS ON 183 is so-so.. This location just opened up so we were excited because it is close by where we live. We started off with the botana plater and it was good but the hot wings were very cold, yuck. The room we were seeted in was very dim. The salsa was unsalted. My boyfriend ordered the numero dos and the enchiladas tasted like the dollar kind you get in the frozen food section at the store. My carne guisada was good and tender. Our waiter tried to charge us an added $6 for a margarita we didnt order, which clearly all the drinks we ordered were still on the table since he didnt take them away when we were finished with them. How sneaky! I didnt like this place so we are sticking to our old places we get mexican food... oh and Im mexican! lol

this place is relocating to old kirby lane. this place was here for 14 yearas. it's about time they relocated. the manager at the austin store invited me to the dry run for the new location when it opens up. he said all i had to do was spread the word about it moving to the new kirby lane location. the one in austin is cool, just too far for me.

This place fell down and can't get up. This used to be a decent family place where you could get inexpensive but tasty Tex-Mex meals. Of late, service has been terrible -- slow and negligent. The food is not up to par, and it doesn't help that by the time a dish arrives at the table the enchiladas are room-temperature and the sauces congealed. The prices have gone up as the service has slipped. There are better restaurants in Northwest Austin serving the same basic fare. Skip this one.

used to be better. We used to frequent this restaurant often because it was inexpensive, good menu selection and bests margaritas in town. We have not gone back since they have raised the prices and I had a margarita that tasted like a sweet tart. Yuck! I judge a good mexican restaurant by their salsa and margaritas. There are too many other choices in restaurants here in Austin for them to risk them fixing something that wasn't broken. You'll find me at Jardin Coronas from now on.

Consistently Great. The food is great and very affordable.

I can't think of another mexican place in Austin that is as consistent, and gives you the quality of food they have at such a low price.

Try the primo chimichanga (but ask for the queso on the side, if not they'll pour it on top).
