HORRIBLE YUCK!!!. The location is great but the hamburgers are HORRIBLE!!! It's like they don't even cook the meat! Just barely brown! How sick is that????Made me want to gag......

Think "chicken". While prior reviewers honed in on the burgers, which i agree are average, the real draws to Wally's are the chicken baskets, fried chicken sandwiches, and to a lesser extent the chicken salad. 4 stars for those choices. I really like the shakes, but your mileage may vary.

A recent renovation has definitely overhauled the look, and it is not a "dive," if it ever was.

Average. Went to lunch here with coworkers & I ordered the cheeseburger, no fries or anything else. One of my coworkers compared it to Dairy Queen, and I'd say that's about right - it reminded me of Dairy Queen or Sonic burgers. Not an awesome burger, but not bad. Probably not somewhere I'd choose to go if I were picking lunch.

Great Burgers, Great Service. Wally's burgers are some of the fastest and tastiest burgers in town. The bun is melt in your mouth soft and delicious. Crispy bacon and tasty burger is a lovely combination. Thin and crispy fries are always hot. Besides the great food being served, the great service was off the charts. While there, I witnessed a drive-thru attendant assist a blind man to a table, and delivered our order in a very timely manner (5 mins.). An elderly lady decided to chow down on a large coney, and her request for a fork and knife were delivered promptly, with a side of friendly conversation. These days, you're lucky to get this kind of service in a four-star establishment, much less a local fast-food burger joint. Do yourself a favor and get Wallyfied, or Wallybanged.

Great Burger!. Completely re-done interior makes place looks brand new, but it isn't, it is the same Wally's that has been around serving great burgers in austin forever. Always order a double meat burger, juicy, juicy, juicy!!!! Fries are great, chicken strips great, but the burgers here the best (next to Frans that is). Don't forget to wally size your order!

New look, same food. I like the new look of Wally's and service has always been good here. The food is pretty good. Decent burger and fries and really good shakes.

Wally's Bangs!. I love Wally's! The Burgers are delicious, made quickly, and the staff is so friendly. Wally's is locally owned, and the owner clearly cares. Consistent, excellent value, fresh ingredients....

Below average burgers. I've been to Wally's twice with coworkers. The first time I thought it was ok, just an average burger. The second time I had a chicken sandwich, and it was a huge disappointment. I've had better burgers and chicken at mainstream fast food joints. I haven't had their "Wallybanger" shake, so that might be good, who knows.

The place is kind of a dive, so don't expect it to be super clean. Guess it's part of their vibe.

Anyhow, I can think of dozens better burger places. And if you just want a plain, normal burger, you can get the same thing they have at Wally's at any fast food place. None of my coworkers were impressed either. Won't be going back.

Darn GOOD Burger! Crispy Salty Fries & loverly SHAKE (Try strawberry). It's 2007 now and I was going to a Concert across the street & had to eat first. I'm sure glad I found WALLY's and know that there are lot's of (not too picky) people who would at least appreciate it for what they have and HOW they have it. Great price and better than average I'd say! Although I too like DQ, they've gone too mainstream for me now, and well, Wally's Burger Express took me back to what use to be a the 1970's version of DQ; not a plug just a fact in my humble opinion.

Not only were they quickest I've seen in a long time, but Freshly HOT and mighty good for the price. Can't beat it and what I like is that its a hidden away place that's tucked up close to my area if I need a late night AMERICAN BURGER! Yummy... as fattening as it sounds - it's a sheer pleasure to chomp down and gulp it up! Sad as that may sound.

ONE LAST THING: they do have a quirkiness to their atmosphere & help - which was fine by me. They're kids running it as well as it should as long as they're doing their best to help us get fat. COME ON NOW ... Burgers are Burgers. Well, Wally's is close to TOP NOTCH if you know what I mean. That's all I can add and say for now.

Don't forget to try the Strawberry shake. (I can't wait to take my little girl there)

Burgers are good, vintage ambiance. I disagree with the other reviewer. The food is better than standard fast food, but not spectacular. I have really enjoyed the burgers and fries. The drive thru has been pretty quick. The service is a little bizarre, but not offensive. Overall, I think Wally's has some decent Austin appeal.
