Dr. Berger has always treated my family like family. She has always been there when we need to get in to see her. Dr. Berger has given quality care to myself and my family. Dr. Berger has respectful office staff. I highly recommend this office.

I'm in the middle of a nightmare with this office. At first I thought it was just the office staff that was to blame but I now realize that the doctor is just as bad, unless the staff is forging her name on correspondence to me without her knowledge. Before I made an appointment with Dr. Berger I confirmed with the staff that they accepted my insurance. They assured me they did. Then when I went to the appointment they asked for my insurance card which they copied. I paid my $40 copay and had the exam. Dr. Berger was thorough in examining me I will say in her favor, and detailed in her explanation of my problem. Then I started receiving bills saying the insurance company turned down the claim and that I owed an additional $90. At first I thought they had billed it incorrectly, but after back and forth calls and letters I found out that they only accept a "certain type" of Humana insurance, the PPO, not the EPO that I have. No one had indicated to me that they only accepted a particular Humana plan, and right on my insurance card on the front in BOLD letters it states EPO. I feel that this was a mistake on both our parts and am more than willing to share the cost. I offered to pay half of the remaining balance, bringing the total to $85 that I would pay BUT they flatly refuse and are now sending my account to collections! I suggested to Dr. Berger that the staff be better educated on the insurance plans they are a part of so that they can give patients accurate information and avoid this type of problem in the future. They refuse to accept any responsibility in this oversight and just state over and over (like robots) that it is the patient's responsibility to make sure the provider is on their plan. This is precisely what I did but they ignore that fact and just sidestep the issue.
Pros: Doctor was thorough and detailed
Cons: Horrible office staff, don't even know what insurance they take, won't share responsibility for error
